2:12 Minor correction: Her father was a half-homs High Entia. He was kicked out of the Order when this came to light. It was mentioned only once in the main game, by an NPC that only shows up after the Melancholy Tyrea sidequest, who doesn't stand out and as such is easy to miss.

This NPC also explains that normally a impure child like Tyrea would have been killed, and that by having her Yumea went against the Order's wishes. Likewise, she states Yumea explained all this to Tyrea shortly before she became a Telethia. This is notable because its pretty much the only time Yumea is given positive qualities, and helps explain why Tyrea feels so strongly about her despite how poorly Yumea often treated her.

I gotta say, I didnt encounter the Melancholy Tyrea sidequest until my Definitive Edition playthrough, and... seeing her just up and casually fly away literally made me shout “WHAT” at the top of my lungs

It is also mentioned in the base game, but the NPC to tells you only shows up post-"Melancholy Tyrea", only mentions it once, and despite being in a prominent area is actually easy not to notice.

Apperently, Tyrea was going to be a playable character. Some FC datamines show portraits of her for the equipment menu and for battles. Plus, she is the only non-playable character present in the steelbook.

A. I absolutely love Tyrea as a character and the expansion she received in FC. Such a great character.
B. This was a great video! I could tell it was scripted, and I think it really benefited your points. While not every video needs a set-in-stone script, I think there are certainly some that'll benefit from it. Great job as always Luxin.

I love how female High Entia not wearing pants is such a stable thing, like you'd think they'd do it for one character and that's it... but no, they commited to it for some reason lol
To be honest, while I can't deny it'd have been great to see, I almost feel like narratively, Future Connected was better with Tyrea not being a party member. She had yet to entirely come to accept Melia as family until the end, after all, so it makes sense that she wouldn't fully go with Melia's agenda. I feel like the way things worked is that it set her up to be a party member in the future as she accepted Melia as family and someone she fights for. It was made clear before that her telling Melia to become a beacon of hope and the like wasn't out of respect, but position.
If tyrea was a party member the story will definitely go to other way
Future Connected was just too short to have her become a playable character. She could've joined right before the final boss, but at that point there was barely anything left to do. I wish they had made it the same size as Torna ~ The Golden Country and included another big area.
@@yum2735 they said they don't wana use their ideas and things in future connected they want to use it in the next game.... future connected just for melia and tyrea and the hight entia and to connect the future of xenoblade series
@@mohamedfr6456 Sure, but they could've included another area from the base game and changed it a bit like Gormott in Torna ~ The Golden Country. I think another 20% content or so after protecting Gran Dell would've been enough to warrant Tyrea joining the party at that point.
@@yum2735 There's also that it's so short comparatively. But I think the biggest obstacle was probably her weapon not really being compatible with any of the fighting styles from the base game. The closest would be regular Fiora, but I'm fairly sure she only has four arts or something, so it'd be a problem there. Meanwhile, Mecha-Fiora has arts that rely on her mechanical parts, perhaps most notably Final Cross.

yeah, Reyn seemed more like he was treating Nopon as an older person would treat an annoying kid like "you darn youngins!" it gives off more of that feeling than any kind of discrimination since Nopon do generally act goofy like an annoying child yet keeping a decent business sense around them
Reyn definitely makes offhand rude comments about other Nopon than Ricky even before they met.

@@famillesabot5719 He does seem to change his opinions on Nopon by the end of the game, but still tries to hide the fact that he likes Ricky. It shows through though.
I really Tyrea's design, and I am always going to wish they made her a playable character for Future Connected.
Every scene with Melia and Tyrea in Future Connected makes me emotional, but that shared smile at the end made me shed some tears.
Great video! I really appreciate Tyrea’s character in Future Connected. It’s a shame FC is so short because Tyrea is one of the better examples of character redemption I’ve seen. She’s still true to her personality in the base game and doesn’t go the “I am so utmost miserable about everything I’ve done” route most writers go with. She’s pretty complex as a result despite limited screen time and the game explored her thoughts on her past as an assassin, her mother that treated her awfully, and her past prejudice against Homs simultaneously.
If only Tyrea was playable 😔 imagine a Shulk and Tyrea Quiet Moment
One thing I liked from Future Connected about Tyrea was the fact that she didn't went inmediatly to antagonize Melia like "YOU RUINED MY LIFE I HATE YOU FILTHY HALFLING".
It was more like "Oh it's you guys. Well yeah this is my life now." It felt very organic to pretty much she reacting to a new world, her newfound responsibility of taking care of Teelan and understanding no matter what is in her mind, Melia is the indisputed Empress of the High Entia. It's nice for Monolithsoft to not fall into that narrative trap a lot of stories trip into.

I was hoping that at some point Monolith Soft would update Future Connected and add Tyrea as a playable character akin to T-elos and the torna blades in XC2, but it doesn't seem like they ever will. Which is a shame since Melia and Tyrea were the best parts of FC and I would have loved for them to fight alongside one another. However, that won't stop me from appreciating how great they did make Tyrea in the end. Great video Luxin, you always have some of the best Xenoblade content out there!

I've had like half of your videos on my WL list for months if not years, it's just that until earlier this year I hadn't come around to playing the rest of the Xeno series (and by that I mean I had only played XC2), and knowing how often you like to talk about the connections between the games (to the point which even you mock yourself for it in the video) I decided to refrain from watching your videos for the time being so as to avoid spoilers. I'm now on my way to the Dazil desert in Xenogears, which (Xenosaga Freaks and other spin offs aside) is the last of the Xeno games left for me to play (I haven't beaten XCX yet but I think that'll take hundreds of hours the way I enjoy playing it), so I'm very much looking forward to binge-watching all those videos when I'm done with it. I love this series and I'm glad there's people like you and many others who like to talk about it with well-founded opinions and research. Lastly, I think this is one of your best videos and that you yourself are aware of that, so keep up the great work!

I really enjoyed this breakdown of Tyrea. I don't think I ever did the post-game quest with her story, so that was a nice refresher. It's also just been a long time since I played XC1, so I kinda forgot about her character altogether. I'm definitely going to pay more attention when I play Future Connected and replay XC1 because Hot Scientist Bird is great and right up my alley
Just hoping she at least appears in future Xenobalde games since she *unfortunately* wasn't playable in FC, I was confident she would be because of the QMs with Melia but oh well

Great video i liked it a lot, Tyrea is a character which at the beginning i didnt like that much, but in future connected i saw the development and change, and dear god why she wasnt playable there were signs for her to be playable but no :(
i would have liked you to add the conversation with Yumeas maid thats where we know more about Tyrea.
What makes me sad is that we barely see the relationship between Tyrea and Yumea, i would have liked to see more backstory of the bionite order, Tyreas childhood, atleast a cutscene
With Melia aswell i would have liked to see a cutscene of her homes mother, she tells us her story with her but just dad
Yumea is a character that needed more development, like why she hated the hybrid , i never understood that "hello your daughter is hybrid"

Ok this isnt related to this vid but it could be an idea for a future video which i thought would be interesting to get peoples thoughts on, just figured i'd ask since this is a new vid and people are likely reading the comments: (SPOILERS for basically all the xeno games)
Lately i've been watching someone do blind playthroughs of all the xeno games and he's currently finishing up xenosaga, when a question came to mind. Is kosmos (atleast the xenosaga version) actually an aegis, or an artificial aegis? She has alot of characteristics of a blade, a living weapon having ether powers and summoning weapons out of nowhere but more importantly a line that stuck out to me was that her power comes from the zohar itself. Normal blades use atmospheric ether for their power (as explained in xb2) whereas the aegis's are different cus they took their power from the conduit (the zohar). So since kosmos draws her power from the zohar too, does that make her technically an aegis for the saga universe? And for that matter, wouldnt the same be true for telos if thats the case?
Just something to think about if they ever try to tie all the series together again
She cant be an aiges bcz the architect said there 3 aiges malos /logos ...pyra/mythra/panuma...ontos/alvis ...also kos mos dosnt have a core crystal
@@mohamedfr6456 Yes in the blade universes there are only 3 aegis cores, however this is a different universe and we all know the previous series are now being implemented into same multiverse, obviously the exact same names and definitions didnt exist back then so let us try to define what exactly a blade and aegis is beyond "they grow from core crystals" and see if we can draw any parallels. Remember technically, they're all still just man made creations, the crystals and the cloud sea nanomachines was just the method klaus devised to build them
A blade is basically a living weapon which can pull signature weapons from their cores and they process atmospheric ether to create certain powers. Now an aegis is basically the same thing except they have extra functions and abilities, and instead draw their power from the zohar and not the environment. As for the core crystal part, poppi is considered an artificial blade even though she didnt come from a crystal, not considered just a robot. Ergo i believe the fact she can process ether is what defines her as a blade
Now i look as kosmos as she was in the saga universe. At the very least i would consider her an artificial blade just like poppi as she's a robotic living weapon which can process ether based attacks and even spawns weapons for herself. However the fact it directly states her power is drawn from the zohar is why i question, is she technically an artificial aegis. As for her not having a core crystal, to be fair we dont know what's inside her and she is stated to have an internal core of some sort
Its just some theorising on the various parallels between the game series given they might want to start bringing them together someday
