    Hi, Alex!
I've watched your past videos and LOVE that you discuss so much of the underbelly of not only the method but the industry!
I, personally, took the path of taking Lolita's Legacy Teacher Training Program and then followed it up by continuing my studies with my educator, Amber (a disciple of Lolita's) and then by taking the Master Mentor Program with Lolita herself.
Just for general history background - Lolita San Miguel is an elder who studied directly under Joe and was certified by him with Kathy Grant.
Lolita is still alive, working, and training master teachers around the world.
Legacy and following up with PMMP gave me a TON of tools to be an informed teacher, but as you mentioned I would still say that the business components are absolutely lacking.
Again, I love your content and I'm so glad you create for people looking to start out.
I just had your video playing while I was getting ready and wanted to reach out 😊
I hope this finds you AND your studio well!
I can't wait to continue watching your videos :)
    Best
    💖Lex

Hi Alex, I just wanted to say thank you for taking the time to create this content. It is extremely useful to someone like myself who is looking to begin her training. There is a serious lack of transparent information online. So again I thank you for this. Best wishes from Amsterdam :)

Thank you so much Olivia! I really appreciate your message and I'm glad it is helpful. I'm always trying to think of more ways to help people who are considering/starting teacher training because I know from experience how frustrating it can be. Have a lovely day!

Thanks for this one. I have been confused by things told to me by different people claiming about real or legitimate Pilates.
You have cleared many points for me.
    Thanks a lot . Seriously 🙏

This is great information. I have begun looking at the teacher training programs available to me. I have one place near me, and another one that’s a bit of travel time to get to. I don’t know what school of training the one by me is, but I have reached out to the instructor to see if we can get together and chat about the program. This one, from my initial website research, seems to expire after a period of time and requires recertification or continuing education or something...it’s unclear if it has to be directly through that program or not. I know that continuing education is something to be aware. The other one is Balanced Body, and the program my instructor did, albeit, quite a while ago. This would definitely be more expensive due to the BB branding, and the traveling aspect of the location. My instructor was able to stay with a friend in the area where the program was held, which was a big help. So there’s the possibility of doing my local certification, and possibly doing the BB afterwards. I’m trying to figure out what questions I wanna ask the local teacher when we get a chance to meet. Anything you can suggest I ask would be welcome.

    Hi Alex,
I am based in the UK 🇬🇧 and currently a pilates teacher who has evolved from athletics, professional dance to pilates.
I strongly agree with all you have shared and said in your videos. Thank you for sharing.
I do question and wondered about individuals (speaking for myself) evolving and striding down a path which is strongly related and all about pilates to create new equipment, programs and different ways of teaching! Who validates your stamp on that program and Equipment. How do we as individuals break the ‘hold’ of surrendering your ideas to well established pilates companies who may choose to make your idea their own?
They might say “who am I to put out there a stamp on a piece of the pilates world”!
Of course, we can only show this progress if we evolve with the pilates technique. Society is moving into a new life of technology, so will the pilates world accept that path. Will it still be classed as the true Pilates? If there is such a thing!
Would one stand to be equal and successful amongst the big players (Balance Body, Stott, Basi) if your work had evolved and justified all the principles of pilates and beyond which led to a more open pathway outside the pilates community?
Only then perhaps 🤔 we as individuals can truly justify how we have evolved!!

This was very helpful - certainly wish I had watched your videos before signing up for a teachers training program. I registered without understanding all the pitfalls. The cost and schedule have both proved impractical for me. I'm researching how to get a refund without burning bridges.

Hi, thank you so much for your informational video ! I am considering in training to be a Pilates instructor while also studying in college. Do you know anyone who’s done both? I haven’t found any online videos so I am wondering if it’s possible. My ultimate plan is to become a PT and I was thinking of Pilates to be a side job (on the weekends) while I study pt school and then hopefully I can marry them both once I graduate pt school.
Do you know of anyone with a similar path?

does "I don't have a recommendation" mean "no program stands out as inherently superior to the others" or does it mean "i recommend not going to any"? if the latter, what's the alternative path to becoming a trainer?
