    My honest 2 cents on call mic noise suppression (having used 35 and 700 for years, and tried every Sony 1000X (M1 through M5)):
    If you need to make calls in a wide variety of noisy environments, absolutely go for XM5 or 700.
    Don't bother with XM1, XM2, XM3 or XM4 for calling in noisy environments. Each of them disappointed me and are miles behind XM5 and 700 for calls.
    The QC35 call mics worked for me in very particular environments like sitting near an air conditioner, but not for many other environments. Hit and miss.
    As I am in conference calls for 9 hours a day in many noisy environments, I get a lot of feedback from others on how well they can (or can't) hear me. XM5 seems to get the best feedback, and I would use them if I found them equally as comfortable as the 700s. But I have stuck with NC 700s because they are very close in comparison, and I prefer how they don't have as much of the annoying effect of amplifying my own breathing, chewing, etc. Could just be an OCD thing unique to me.

    Thank you for doing this comparison! I am amazed at how poorly the QC45's handled the outdoor test. The QC35's and NC700's were both acceptable in this test to me. One thing you don't test that I have seen tested elsewhere though is that the BT Range on the NC700 is much better than the QC35's so probably worth the extra money for me.

    i agree that the NC700 sounded best for phone calls. Surprisingly the 45 was a disappointment and I think the 35 did an all-around better job. I wonder whether there wasn't something wrong with the 45. They were really disappointing in this test.

      I found the background noise reduction of the QC45s mics better than those of the 35s, however that came at the expense of voice clarity. So while you do hear less background noises with the 45s, I found often your voice comes out less clear as well..making me lean towards the 35s as well

    To my ears the QC35 sounds the best with the NC 700 coming in second. The QC45 was very disappointing.

    Christ the phone quality outside on the QC45 is hideous. They must be braindead to think that the QC45 sounds better than QC35 ii in noisy places.

      I personally had the qc35 ii sold it to update to qc45 and regret it.
      - The sibilance on the qc45 is unbearable (how the Letter S sounds so sharp almost nauseating) the low end as a whole is pretty annoying.
      - the qc 45 are unusable when it’s windy.
      The rest isn’t really worrh the upgrade
      I am going back to qc35

    I bought the QC45's right after Christmas, just returned them for 700's. The 45's were great, except had major sound leakage. People around me were both distracted and somewhat annoyed. The 700's seem to be much better. This is an aspect that no one seems to mention in reviews.

    • @badolllenslvr
      @badolllenslvr 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They had major sound leakage? Like was it really really bad? Also, how loud do you listen to your music? I usually listen to my music about 70%-75%. Is that ok or do you think it would leak sound at those volumes?

    • @zirak93-2
      @zirak93-2 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They really like to frustrate their customers. A really evil and cheap trick by Bose. Don't expect any positive updates on the QC45 anytime soon. It took Bose two years to add a simple EQ on the NC700. So it could actually take 1-2 years to see any positive firmware update on the QC45. In the worst-case scenario, they may never fix these issues. Only Bose knows what they are doing.
