HOW I SET MY ACE 400i FOR FINDING SILVER COINS ALMOST EVERY HUNT METAL DETECTING!!!

- Hey folks today I head back into the valley for a couple hours to see if I can find a coin or 2 . I also show how I set the Ace 400i up when coin shooting, although you canset any detector up this way.Thanks for watching all the best.

Thats weird my detector is very quiet in the woods, I rarely get any EMI interference, unless there are powerlines or train tracks near by. I mean I still hear metal i have discriminated out but it is usually one or two off beeps ,not digging quality beeps. I'm interest to hear your machine, i will watch for it. ✌️🙂
@@depthspader8820 I thought maybe because the area we were swinging was close to the old homesteads ( cellar holes ) I did set up exactly as you said. We found a coin right of the bat I mean to 2 seconds on the trail!

Hey Dirt trolling Troy, i find tons of relics, military badges , bullets and enough gold , Found 6 pieces of gold this season, three gold coins, 2 gold rings 1 of which was 23k and a 14k pin. I just don't hunt rust if you know what i mean LOL And besides I still know whats in the ground , the machines still lets you know you have swung over something even when it is discriminated out, you just have to know how to hear it , at least the Ace and the Equinox do. And hey 266 silver coins, not to mention all the loads of big old coppers and such in 8 months of detecting, 319 silver coins if you go back exactly 1 year. I stick with the precious metals. Lol And hey I enjoy watching others find rust, Stealth Diggers is one of my favorite shows. ATB & HH ✌️🙂

Deer, oh deer, oh deer! Nice hunt and great GV6 quarter! Pretty lean in that area for coins but sure makes up for it with the silver! Hunted for 6hrs till 2:30 AM tonight but still managed to strike out on silver! Did manage a 1909 Eddy LC, 1903 IHP, 3 KG5 small cents, some KG6 pennies and a few other odds and ends. TC&HH

It has been hunted to death, but as long as i find something there it is still worth hitting, hell I thought it was already done and I have gotten some nice coins outta there lately. Definitely good spot to keep hitting if you’re getting silver quarters and half dollars! Was super cold last night and the ground was actually starting to form a hard crust on the surface. Interestingly, closer to the lake and under the trees it wasn’t too bad. I have been pulling lots of stuff out of one particular spot where the targets are all fairly deep at 6”+. Isn’t it funny how on one hunt you can hit silver within minutes and nada the next. I was hoping that I would at least get a largie if I didn’t get silver. The Eddie was nice and in pretty good shape too! Not sure if it was recently, but I saw the mess another detectorist has made with their holes. Just dirt everywhere all around it and plug is a bit indented because they didn’t get all the soil back. That’s what gets hunting in parks banned!
And people who see you there think it was you. Some times we just don't walk over any silver. The spot I got the 17 silver in MS, I had walked thru there several times never found a thing, Then one day walked thru found a KG6 penny. Decided to try it again found 17 silvers! Go figure. Gonna warm back up into the teens this week.
Well I hope that people see this guy. I’m only out at night and I’m just using a Lesche knife. I actually find it better because there are so many tree roots that I can only take out a 3-4” thick plug then dig down around the roots. I’m digging down a fair ways before the pinpointer even finds it and it’s set on highest sensitivity! Isn’t that something! Bet I must have walked over a ton of stuff when I was out there last December! In 3.5hrs, I just got one modern penny, 3 YL’s and a GV6. Went down the old road and a bit at the bottom, crossed and spent some time around Gilwell, went up the big hill and back down, back across and upstream along the base of the slope to just past where the firepit is, uphill to the the outdoor chapel and back out the west gate. Using the 6” coil, probably passed over a lot of good signals that I thought sounded like nails. Some very deep (8+”) GV6 pennies were ringing up 38-39 last night!
I hope the nox is ready next week, got some new spots I wanna hit. It has happened many times, i walked thru one area found nothing, won't have gone back but it was walking distance from home and going to rain so I went back. Found lots of LCs from all of them, 3 vicky dimes , kg 5 quarters, barber half(925inder) all kinds of eddie and kg5 dimes. Crazy. key date Vicky LC as well.

Hey kanu, I would say 95% of the coins I find are between 4 and 6 inches deep, dimes included and that's with the equinox as well. All the best and take care.✌️🙂

I set all my detectors like that, some might say I miss gold, but high karat gold rings within those numbers and I found 6 pieces of gold so far this season. On the nox when i'm coin shooting I discriminate everything below 20 out. I would imagine the vanquish should be very similar to the nox. ATB & HH ✌️🙂

I have been using the Ace 400 for a few years. If you notch out almost everything like that, I guarantee you are missing a lot of coins and other objects. Of course it's gonna find silver coins at those high numbers, but not much else. If you're looking for US coins, you will miss Buffalo, V, Shield, and War nickels, probably Indian head pennies, and probably small silvers like half dimes and trimes. Also US half cents and smaller Colonial coppers may be missed. If you are strictly looking for silver coins, your settings will work. But I believe you would find more if you only notch out the bottom few iron notches. Just my opinion, no offense meant! Just wanted to put it out there. Great hunt and nice finds! Hey I hear you, thats why i said in the wrap up you have to see what the coins where you are from ring up at and might have to lower your discrimination. here in Canada all the coins that I hunt ring 80 and up. However I find lots of those coins your talking about ,get nickels a lot , hell found 35% war nickel, found lots of buffalos, lots of IHPs, half dimes, Hell I even found a gold 1871 American half dollar, which is smaller than the Hoover boys 1 dollar coin, i say that because Kurt called the 1 dollar gold coin the smallest US coin, Nope I find way more coins , and all types of coins this way. Even if I swing over something discriminated out I still get a blip of a sound and can tell if it is worth digging. Another thing that is the reason the coins ring different than your Ace is the i, the Ace 400i rings higher than the Ace 400. The half dollar is one of three gold coins i found this season. I'm sticking with my way. Do the same on my Nox. All you have to do is scroll thru my vids and you will see I find all those things. No offense taken, everyone has to do there own thing , what ever works for yourself. 319 silvers coins in 8 months detecting among countless coppers relics, military badges, bullets, gold, works for me. @@depthspader8820 Hey, if it works, Don't mess with it!..lol. Congratulations on all those silver coins this year too! You're right, the 400i is gonna be slightly different than the 400, didn't take that into account. I've tested with mine and like to run it in basically all metal with the bottom 2 or 3 iron segments notched out. I will usually have to back the sensitivity down 2 notches from the top if I'm hunting a yard permission in town, can go full if I get out in a field or something. Yes, I do tend to dig a bit more trash signals, but I like to dig it all anyway. I'm hoping to get out a few more times yet, but as you know, winter and frozen ground is already knocking..lol. Yeah it was 22 degrees here last night, but suppose to get a warm up mid week into 60s. Yeah I can only run full sensitivity in the woods, zero EMIs . Here in Toronto its getting hard to find places good to hunt for really old relics and such, mostly parks to hunt with lots of coins, jewelry , old pins and badges stuff usually made outta brass, copper and silver. An American dime on the 400i rings in as high as 91, American quarter 93, half dime 81 - 82. IHPS mid 80s .
@@depthspader8820 22 degrees..ugh. I thought we were bad with 27 the other night in Northeast Pennsylvania..lol. Well, it's definitely not that far off now. I do a lot of door knocking for permissions, and I also live along the Susquehanna River here so I find things there as well. I also will do parks or public curb strips when I dont have anything else lined up. I just bought a Simplex this week, so I'm going to be busy learning that machine over the winter on decent days, but definitely keeping the Ace 400 for different situations..it's still a great machine.
