- This is the first outing and the first time using this radio to make a QSO. Its a bit slow but finally getting the job done on a morning with poor conditions. The coil is the 40m coil add on for the AX1 from Elecraft. More to come but wanted to get this out there for those waiting for theirs. I did make a few contacts on 20m but cut that out of the video.

I'm living vicariously through you while eagerly waiting for my kh1 order to process :) Thanks for taking us along for the ride. 73 es cul de N4AAJ
Fine business Josua. Glad to have gotten you in the log of the maiden voyage of your new KH1. 73. W9MIC - Mike - FL
This looks like fun! I think I need one, but no use here on 40m, way too few local CW ops, maybe 20m or 15m, wish it could do 10m, great QRP band. Thanks, enjoyed that, 73 Rudi de ZS2M/ZS6DX
This is great. I'm thinking I need the KH1. Thank you for the great video. W1RCY
I would like to see Elecraft provide a 90 degree or variable degree whip mount adaptor for folks who do tabletop portable or otherwise position the KH1 horizontal to ground. Sure, I can string-up a wire to a tree branch and attach it to the BNC port or alligator-clip it to the whip port, but the whip is very quick and easy to deploy.
I believe a right angle adapter is coming from Elecraft.
@@thuff3207 A few days ago, I sent an inquiry to Elecraft about this. The answer was affirmative -- it's now in prototype stage.
Need one for left hander
You are in luck! The logging tray can very quickly be switched to the other side! Joshua N5FY
I’m on the fence on this rig right now. But that’s ok. Like you, I have lots of other rigs to keep me happy and all these kh1 videos coming out to keep me happy until I decide. And Santa (me), is getting a hiking chair and hiking table for Christmas. I’m not standing up. Hihi de n5vwn
