    This is no good 9:1 transformer The reactance of this transformer's primary is only 17.4 Ω at 7 MHz. You need to use a ferrite here, even though you call this T80-2 iron powder a ferrite..A FT82-61 would do the job.

    Herr Tüftler, you know, you can write on heat shrink tubing. Use a contrasting color. I've used both Sharpy and ball point pen. Make it big, it will shrink. Might be a thing to brand the heat shrink in your kits and / or say what it is. Like 49:1 EFHW for this one. Loved the video. Nice level of detail.

      @@jeffdhartmanAs a survivor of the 60s, my wallet - and sense of financial security - has never been either practical or philosophical. Most of the time I am simply in awe that I still have most of my teeth (motorcycle gang ‘picnics’), am nominally compos mentis (Owsley’s lab), breathing unassisted & not dead. Which explains why I have something like five QRP POTA/SOTA rigs of various manufacture & complexity. And that makes the KH1 tempting. If it came with paisley decorations & recommendations from Wonder Warthog & Inspector Lee . . .

    • @N5FY
      @N5FY 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I can’t comment with any authority on behalf of Elecraft but with the tight tolerances in the rig and more specifically the flat area I covered, I seriously doubt air cooling internally on the direct surface of the board is needed. The PA actually sits on the backside of the front face at the top and used the top housing as a heat sync. Very cool design all around. Another fantastic rig! Thanks for checking out the video.

    Very nice! Have you ever seen the radioset-go for the kx2? If you managed to build a kit for that it would be success. I think every kx2 owner wants that once they know it, but the price is insane. If you put together a 3D printed version, without the case and the lights it would be awesome! 73!
