  • A Short Guide Where I talk about the things I personally do to take a regular boring building, and make it into an epic base, these tips can be used to add detail to ANY building and are very general. sometimes you will not want to use all of them but they are all useful tools in your toolbelt as a base builder and designer.
I originally wanted to make a video called Valheim Top 5 building tips, but I wanted to add more value to the video as I felt there was more people should know. so I aimed to make "Top 10 Valheim building Tips" Instead but I felt like I only wanted to include the best advice I could. so we have the odd number 7 now (with a surprise at the end.)
    Timestamps:
    Start: 0:00
    Tip 1: 0:19
    Tip 2: 1:01
    Tip 3: 1:30
    Tip 4: 2:29
    Tip 5: 3:26
    Tip 6: 3:53
    Tip 7: 4:37
    Extra Tip: 5:18
    End: 5:43
I hope you enjoyed the video, and thank you for watching.

A little bit of an experimental video for me. I wanted to talk about steps I take to make my buildings better, I wanted this to be very open ended and leave room for creativity as well. and instead focus on the elements of a nice looking build rather than "do it exactly this way" I very rarely ask for feedback, but I would appreciate it incredibly if you could all tell me how you enjoyed this video, and if there is anything you wish was different, was the video too slow? too fast? not enough specific advice? I would love to hear it even if its just "I don't know what it was but I didnt like it"
Thanks for always watching and supporting my creations! and have an awesome day!

I thought it was done very well. When starting a new map, I often build structures in a very basic form to start. Then as I explore and gather more/upgraded materials, I tend to go back and do some remodeling of the locations where I know I will frequent. Especially any structure that has a portal nearby. *edit* I have used many of your builds, but rarely have I ever used them in a "do it exactly this way" way. I will normally start the build, and then make variations based on my needs or style preferences during construction, or sometime after as I go.

Thanks for the feedback! I usually find one of the abandoned villages and setup there, then build a building nearby. Its kinda cool knowing what strategies other people use in a playthrough.
and thats how I have used building guides myself before as well, I tend to like getting idea's from them but don't follow them exactly, its nice to change things a little or a lot to kinda make it unique to you.

Super enjoyed this. I can often make elaborate shapes and stuff for builds but they always end up looking like flat boxes so this was really helpful.
Some ideas for the others games (grounded, enshrouded, etc would be cool.
Edit: Decorating tips would be kinda of neat too - I'm currently playing Stardew and I absolutely suck at making things feel "homely" and this happens in a few of my games.
Love how chill the videos are, please keep it up. Too many content creators having this fast and loud stuff recently.

      Thanks I appreciate the feedback!
And I plan on making these types of videos a semi regular thing, Im still getting used to recording voice for my videos, and I plan on making similar guides for other games as well, grounded and enshrouded included. It might take a while. as these do take a lot of time to make despite being quite short.

I found a small island that is safe and had a very small plains part to tame lox, I don't make videos, but I would love to show what is capable if you put your mind to it. I built a massive 3 story castle complete with a massive basement, I honestly don't know how when it came to the roof its able to hold together. It's a bit much for a single player, but it has everything I could ever need, weapons room, kitchen, I'm still trying to figure out how to furnish the place, I'm so proud of this build, I can't really put into words just how massive it is, my point, you think it, you can build it.

Fantastic video as always dude! I've used SO many of your builds in my "village" I always try to put my own touch to them afterwards!

I'm going to implement these right now :] I get smoked out with my fireplace... I made a whole chimney but the smoke still comes right in.

chimneys can be a bit of a pain, I find the longer they are the less problems I have with them, but Iv just been using stairs to push the smoke out more efficiently.

I really enjoyed watching, and even though I don't play valheim, I think the basic principles that are explained here could carry over into other games that are similar, or have building mechanics.

      Thanks!
And you are right. most of these building tips can apply to any building system. it's harder to use them in some games due to limited building pieces. but the basic ideas carry over to every game.

Hey Zeroster. Yet another request for you, but its up to you if you want to take it. I am trying to brainstorm ideas to give life to my town and i think it would be nice with a gardening design to grow trees, flowers and vegetables. For this i was thinking a building along the lines of the babylons gardens (google) which was an ancient gardening building. The second idea is a unique cooking hut only made for the task of cooking. Attach to this could be a pig inclosure with the idea of having pigs to slaughter next to it. This is just some brainstorm ideas, but thank you for reading!
