The first thing I ate as soon as I was released to a “normal” diet was five crackers with cheese. I needed that crunch!

OMG so relieved to see you drink for a straw and take big gulps. I’ve been soooo worried I’ll never be able to again. I’m such a water drinker but I like it freezing and I like it through a straw.
Do you have a food scale? I am feeling like I’d rather not buy one because I fear I’ll only use it for a short time and then it will become kitchen junk that I don’t need.

I didn't use a straw for the first 6 weeks post-op, but then my nutritionist said I could try it but that it might lead to an excess intake of air and cause discomfort. But it didn't - thank goodness! I can't live without a straw. lol
I do have a food scale - and I still use it to this day. Not as often, since I eat a lot of the same foods and just know now how much they weigh. But I probably use it at least once a week.
