Mads, I know of course you are done with the hatches and already underway with Eva. But just in case you need to screw something with wood screws or sheet metal screws. I've been working with the same principle of securing wood from rott with EP and wooden screws. Works really fine. Another variation is using threaded inserts in EP with machine screws. No need to use nuts and washers. Threaded inserts have a higher pull out force than the bolt thread has and I do use those from Ensat. There are also some out there named Helicoil, but these are made from spring wires and not suitable for GRP or Wood. Also in metal solid ones are preferred in the super yacht industry. EP works also great as an electric barrier between metals to prevent galvanic corrosion. And not hardened EP can be removed with white spirit or alcohol, also you can wipe down the surface with these to prepare for EP. No need to use Acetone. And definitely no need to sand it when hardened.

Merry Christmas Mads! Congratulations on the success of your channel, your refit progress and your personal life in 2017. We can't wait to see what happens with 2018. On s/v SYRAH we had to replace the forward hatch, which was mounted opening aft (hinges forward), but we chose to mount the new Lewmar one opening forward to scoop wind when at anchor and cool the boat down on our future tropical voyages. Mads; (Not trying to be Capt Obvious but you didn't mention it while explaining the drill/fill/drill method) don't forget to add a light countersink to each bolt hole before you fasten down the hatch. This method makes the sealant squish into a gasket around the bolt. That is step 2 after epoxy filling the oversized holes, many people call it 'epoxy potting'.
