My guru always says you can never do meditation; it's not an act, but you can become meditative. Meditation is a quality; it is like the blossoming of a flower. If you want flowers in your garden, you don't have to think about them. You just have to focus on the soil, sunlight, and water and nurture the roots, and flowers will come.
In human body we have 9 gates or doors ......which are the medium of our every senses..u know???...2 nasal holes, 2 ear holes, 2 eye holes, 1 mouth hole, 1 urine hole and 1 poop hole.... Understand bro???
the life energy (prana or chi) associated with breath(prana vayu), when we control the breath then movement of prana can be controlled. "City of nine gates" refers to 9 holes in the body. In a metaphorical way, the sense organs are only a gate way of the world in a body that is the city, and the resident, the pure SELF or the ATMAN is the real you.
Yet another powerful metaphor in Indian examples is of the "boat with nine holes" that is set on a mission to cross the river. The sense organs are wasteful. The boatman that is the rider is praying to Krishna to help him control his senses to help him cross the river without the boat drowning

Materialism ISN’T bad at all according to Geeta or other Sanatan Dharma texts. Four goals in life according to Geeta are dharma( righteousness), aartha (money, resources, etc…), kaam(desire), and moksha (salvation). i.e obtain as many material things as possible but with righteousness. Having said that, it’s important not to ‘attach’ yourself to those resources otherwise greed(bad desire) enters your life. And if that ‘bad’ desire is not fulfilled, anger comes next, that anger takes out your rational thought faculties, losing which, you lose your sense of right or wrong. Once that is lost, you are basically a deer in headlights. Ciao🤘🏻
My ONLY Suggession ( out of My Concern, ofcourse) is : For every popular thing/event/deed , there will be DO's & DON'Ts , as all of us are aware. Meditation, as per the Gita, is not a practice that can simply be performed. I believe it has an entirely different meaning. It is, without doubt, the state where the self ceases to exist.
You can get rid of ignorance with knowledge. With knowledge you learn Param Atma is the eternal reality. And everything material is temporary illusion. Then you will never chose something far inferior and will forever stay above all actions, results of actions and everything related to material world. That's when you truly attain liberation and merge yourself with God

The Supreme Personality of Godhead, who is living within the body of a living entity, is the controller of all living entities all over the universe.
