I bought my MT01, a few months ago...custom paint job (purple with black marbling, with skulls, the reaper and other designs). It was customised in Ireland, then bought by a guy in Scotland. I actually found an article about it, online...for some strange reason, it had ape-hangers on, at the time 🤔 My (ex) boyfriend bought it and was going to have it repainted in white! 🙄 I rode it a few times, while my Monster 1100 was having its fork seals replaced...love at first ride ❤ Realising that getting rid of the artwork would be nothing short of criminal, I felt compelled to buy it...MT and me, together forever!!

I have one in New Zealand, owned it for ten years, done seventy four thousand K's on it, on long rides all over the country. Its never missed a beat and its very well looked after. Love it.

reliability and fuel economy ?
@@Abujound Fuel economy is fine, it is 1700 afterall, not a 650 cc machine. Reliability has been fantastic, ive owned it for over ten years, and apart from regular maintainece, like oil changes, plugs, chain and sprocket wear, havnt had a single problem.

at what intervals have you changed the plugs?
Also have you done any adjustments to the engine, valves etc?

Last year I discovered the MT01 on TH-cam. I immediately checked to see if there were any for sale. I found one about 1.5 hrs away from me. I bought it for 4g with 27000km on on it. I love it!!! I will never sell it.

I bought my MT-01 new in 2007, I've still got it will never sell it even though I can get more for it than what I paid for it new. Great bike.

Bought an 07 model 12 years ago and still ride it whenever possible. My friends know me the moment they hear it coming. Never seen anything I want to replace it with - was tempted with the 2020 Rocket 3 but still love the MT.
The rocket is a beast also. But the MT is just special!

it just struck me that the Husqvarna Vitpilen/Svartpilen borrowed the design around the tank from this old bike.

I have a 2011 model in orange/silver. I have had it since 2016 in Portugal. Great bike. One to keep forever, perhaps.

I thought it was awful to ride, cruiser power, a big lump of torque and then it runs out, steers like a barge, didn't like a single thing apart from the looks.

@@droommotor ok I was just surprised that you thought that. I think it depends what you're used to. I understand if you compare it to other big twin cruisers. An interesting bike anyway.
@@robertandersson2523 I have a lot of things to compare it to! I have had around 30 bikes in the last 10 years and have ridden a lot more. It is pretty agile compared to a lot of bikes. But of course not as agile as a supermoto, GS, or anything like that.
Why did they stop production???
It was not a sales hit. Probably because it was to expensive compared to the competition.

I have on saudi arabia now two years and i wanna move to africa twin but I cant sell this bike its amazing and when the engine start you will feel the orgasem 😂😂😂 that for sure and its true it will run forever without any issues
