We live in Connecticut but literally the best carribean food we have ever had in our entire life was a carribean spot in Baltimore called Island Cuisine. Baltimore has a shit ton of good food from pretty much all over the world. Seafood there is the best though. Crab cakes in Baltimore look insane no matter where you get them there.
If you ever come back to Miami/Homestead FL. There's a food truck with some amazing Jamaican food called Gorilla Truck. Amazing people, amazing food, just very limited on funds but always keep a smile and put their soul into the food. Lobster Mac and Oxtail on Saturdays
I think you were on the wrong side of town. There are probably better Caribbean places around the Duluth/Suwanee/Lawrenceville area. Marietta might be a little too, umm, pale for people to know if it's authentic tasting or not. Or, that place just sucks.

Both my folks from Trinidad, and when my mom was cooking you could easiy smell that shit outside the house no problem. I use to go to school with my clothing smelling like spices, I remember my gf mentioning that. Tassa roti shop has such high rating on yelp but it is TRASH! The seasoning for the food is very VERY muted. Maybe she cut back on the spice to save money or to make it more pallatable for white folks, idk, but the food is bland af. I'm GLAD someone busted out this place, because it's a famous spot here, and was super disappointed when I ate there. I only ate here once and never came back.
