Alhamdulillah there are so many natural Muslimahs! Having natural hair doesn't have to be difficult or hard while wearing hijab. I have wore my hair natural for 12 years now and I have done many styles on my hair that I found on youtube. All you need to do is find a good hair regimen to oil and condition your hair. I use the LCO method; I wet my hair with water, then use a leave in conditioner, and then oil my hair with amla and black castor oil mix. I usually do it everyday unless I want to wear a light scarf the next day then I don't since I don't want to ruin my scarf!! Lol Also I always wear a silk/satin underscarf underneath my shayla this is very important because the material of the hijab can dry your hair out. I am married so I usually keep my hair in protective styles unless I want to do something otherwise. I co wash my hair when I make a ghusl and follow up with my LCO regimen. There are so many styles on TH-cam that many natural hair ladies are doing that would look good with hijab and also look good when you are at home.
The struggle is real sister.What i do for my 4b hair is that i part it down the middle so that my hijab lays flat and after washing and conditioning i put my hair in flat twists and pull the twists to the back in a bun. Im a new hijabi and i find that, that works best for me.
Mykal W MashAllah. I've done the twists before (not flat twists) but the regular two strand twists and that works for me almost lol I have to loosen the twists in the front to get the flat look. I've shamefully been straightening my hair more. I straightened it yesterday 🤣
I have very very thick hair and curly hair when I shower in the morning before college after shampooing and conditioning I get out of the shower and have to put product in my hair . A problem I’m having is I just put it a pony tail and put on my after putting all those good products in my hair and now idk what to do :( should I like do individual braids like 4 sections or something idk .... bc I keep wasting product
Girl wallahi everything you described about putting on your hijab is literally me. No other woman in my family struggles the way I do with my hair as they are all mostly 3b and under so it’s nice to relate to someone
As Salaamu alakium the struggle is real lol I deal with all that every day. My hair is curly and thick and my head hurts all day lol.. alot of good moisturizer to use is Shea butter olive oil and vitamin e oil so it won't dry out. It work for me . May Allah bless us all with the struggle we go through ..
I would say one of the best things is to actually style your hair under the hijab . braids and twist can be goodprotective styles. also if you have natural hair don't stress about your hijab being ultra flat and tight.

I can related but I'm relaxed and it bsb length and I relaxed every six months ,my hair is very thick,coarse and dry and while I'm stretching its in cornrows or a ponytail. But I do pamper my hair with hot oils, deep conditioning, and masks.

Diaspora Ukhti your lifestyle depends on wether you want to go relaxed or stay natural. I have two kids and I work early in a office so relaxed hair works for me and cornrows work for me if I'm not is the mood for combing my hair everyday.
I'm not Muslim but an Israelite and I wear headcovering as well. Try looking on Amazon, there are undercaps with the hole in the back to keep hair stable and you don't have to wear ponytails. Its not harsh on our type hair. Use a light daily moisturizer and water spritz and blow dry hair on cool, make sure to completely dry hair so it doesn't get mildew or smelly. Rub a little bit castor oil on your hair line and edges to reduce breakage. And if you get braids dont get them too small or too big. I have dreadlocks that are waist length so my issue is trying to tuck all of them under the headcovering. By the way, I love your videos ❤
I moisturize my hair, put on a satin bonnet(for sleeping) then put the scarf ontop of that and its wonderful. Also i plait my hair in four or braid it down in 2 and wrap the ends around my head but i always moisturize, put the satin bonnet then use the scarf.
Yoooooo I need someone to tell me how to tie up and tuck away curly hair when wearing a hijab!! Usually my hair is braided so it gets soft/wavy and isn't curly, but when its curly I legit don't know what to do
I cut my hair really short too and I have to split my hair in the center and then wear my hijab. It makes my head shape square lol so I have to brush it out and pin ut down with a lot of hair cream

The struggle is real! I stopped doing braids long ago because I have so much hair on my head, that the last time I did braids I had to take them out 2 days later cause it was weighing so much. I generally weaved my hair and wore hijab which was more practical. However, when it comes time to doing wudu I was not sure if that was valid as the water was not touching my scalp. Soooo, in the end, I just plat/ stretch my hair with thread (as I did all my life) and wear my hijab. Would like to know if hair weaving is permissible or not.
By threading do you mean wrapping the thread around the braid? I've always wanted to try that! And, I'm not sure of the rulings on weaving. From what I know, the water has to touch the scalp, and if you have to make ghusul the braids should be taken out. I'm not 100% sure though. I need to look into it myself.
Diaspora Ukhti Yes platting is a form of stretching your hair. We do not in Ghana and it is also done all over parts of Africa. It is very simple, get a spool of polyester thread. grease your hair and scalp as you normally would. Then section your hair into 4, 6 or 8 sections, the objective is to get all the hair in. (after when your used to this you can section it how many as you please). Graphics a section of your hair with your least dominant hand and with your dominant hand, take the thread, gently wrap the thread around the hair from the top doing stays. Once fixed, the objective is to cover the entire section of hair in thread until the bottom. Knot the bottom twice and repeat on the next section. I will try to add a video.
I just recently did the big chop and i’ve just been doing protective hairstyles (cornrows) once a week moisturise it every day if i can be bothered and just pop on my hijab along w/ my hijab under scarf but when its natural my head hurts so much ): i just let it be poofy
I relaxed my hair specifically because natural hair made my head look big under my scarf since it's so thick. I just cornrow it from now on and protect the ends.
This is a late comment but I got boxbraids and had hijab and i had to wear my hijab different and looser cuz my hair was so bulky. I’m def gonna be getting like smaller sizes and feed ins at the front so it can lay flatter

And because I wear the hijab and have to braid, or make my hair 'flat' I really feel like than in a few years my air type is totally gonna change and I wont have curls anymore at all. Anybody got this problem?
Lina I had box braids under hijab for a few months. My advice would be to not have long braids as it will be heavy when you put it in a ponytail to put hijab on 😬😬

And I don’t mean plaiting your own hair. I’ve heard different things. Initially growing up I believed that it was haram because you’re adding something that’s not yours and you are being deceitful. Then about a year ago a very close friend of mine who studied in a well known Islamic school mentioned that she asked one of her teachers who happens to be a Mufti about it. His response was that as long as it’s not real human hair and it’s synthetic you’re good to go. She reasoned that since you’re wearing hijab and not showing it you’re not being deceitful just like how it’s okay to dye your hair. I just wanna let you know that I’m not asking you to put you on the spot lol. Just wanna pick your brain. Thanks a bunch! May Allah reward you tremendously!
hey sis! im christian💕and sorry babe braids is african/black culture and has deep meanings behind it so it cant be haram. we use synthetic hair for braids. some people use human hair but its not up to us to judge💕interesting because ive never seen a muslim say this😌

Hijab is a customs in oil rich Middle East countries now being converted by these Salafist /Wahhabis countries into a standard for women Muslims, and accepted by most western media as such! This is wrong!!! Look at women struggle in KSA and Iran against the hijab. Now, if some women really insist in wearing it, please stay home or immigrate to other Muslim countries, but NOT to western countries.

ZAYNAB SAY Bismillah, asalaamu alaikum it is not permissable to weave the hair in Islam or add on hair in general. You can read hadiths regarding it.
