It's really great that you explain some of the simple features that are still new for Maya users like "right click" on fields to copy parameters. When I first started tutorials a month ago it was those small foxes that cost me the most time. Thanks. Very Thorough. Also, shift click to adjust nodes. Priceless time savers.
12:14 - the Group By Range node does not select the points passed through on the copy node - it looks like there's a bug, if you add the node, delete it, then readd it seems to work. The thing with these tutorials is that it starts of nice and slowly at a good speed, and by half way through the video creator gets bored and has upped the speed and just leaving stuff out without mentioning it.
Seem to be a problem "copy and transforms" causing rows of bricks to stagger in the pos and neg Z direction when I try to paste relative reference to align the back for when they turn. @9:00 I'm using Hou 17.5 but the copy and transforms node really that different?
When I add a groupbyrange node between the copytransform and copytopoints node, the lines aren't in yellow. After select the group, they are highlighted correctly. How should I set the display to get the highlight color without select it?

Now THAT is PROCEDURAL modelling.
Thank you for in depth explanation!!! Helped me as a beginner.
Very great tutorial: straight to the point and very clear.
Thanks

when i add group by range, the line aren't yellow but once i restart Houdini.it work well
As I take transform node axis "Y" automatically rotates towards negative "Z" axis

I'm having the same issue. Did you ever resolve this?
Is this method suitable for rbd ?
I was wondering why I hadn't seen this sooner...Oh Today! ;-) Hoping it's not version specific. ;-) Regardless much needed. Thanks.
Modeling was made easy for programmers by Houdini. Indie Game devs shout out to Houdini.
Thank for this video
