We would not even know her name had she been honest with law enforcement from day one. Clearly she/they were drunk and they were playing. As happens so often when alcohol is involved, play digressed into a release of past frustrations…this time with fatal consequences.
I don’t think she would have done this while sober. It’s not an excuse, but an explanation. Taking responsibility was her best route.
Instead she lied, refused the services of 8 attorneys (paid for by tax payers), made a mockery of the court system and generally has been an instructive ass at every step in the process.
I don’t know how this will turn out, but she forfeited any benefit of doubt. The Judge and jury should have no compassion. She brought this on herself and she has no remorse for killing Joirge.
      Good riddance.

Only wells up when asked why she’s still with him after “he comes at her” & “bcuz I love him!” Just not enough to cry or show any grief! Wanting the ring back off the dead body of your “abuser” is sickening & bcuz “she bought it!”Everything in this case is weird!

Nobody ever talks about how gross it is that she was constantly running to Brian's house, drunk, to whine about Jorge. Brian seems like a kind person. He is obviously responsible and financially secure, and was the primary caregiver for their son. She cheated on him with Jorge, then constantly bothered him for money (on top of the alimony he was already paying), constantly showed up at his house or called him in the middle of the night to complain about Jorge. Next level narcissism.

Honestly Peter if all the video we’ve seen of Jorge how many times has he been belligerent? How many times have you seen Sarah belligerent? How many times have you seen Sarah out of sorts as she says? All it does with Sarah changing her defense does for me is make her an even bigger lair. She’s had 4 years to talk to other inmates and come up with a brand new story. The woman habitually lies, there’s not an instance that she opens her mouth that she isn’t lying. By the way Peter the officer advising Sarah to get an attorney would be counseling her? All the neighbors said She’s always drunk the both of them. Yes Sarah put hands out ready to have her finger swabbed but not before she took her nails and cleaned from underneath her fingernail beds. Right before the tech swabbed her, look closely or you will miss it.

The suitcase videos she took is damning evidence enough. Very difficult to explain away video evidence of her laughing at a man begging for his life. But this interrogation is the nail in the coffin. It completely and utterly destroys her credibility. No chance she gets away with this. I'm glad she obtained a zealous lawyer to defend her so she doesn't have any legitimate reason to claim that she has been treated unfairly by the justice system. Justice will be served and fairly.

This case strikes me as a fantastic example of how the US justice system ought to work. We have a difficult defendant, who is uncooperative and disruptive, who is accused of horrible things and is totally unrepentant. Who wants to slander her victim in court. And she is still getting afforded extraordinary fairness. The fact she wins some motions even partially shows that this is no kangaroo court they are treating her with fairness despite the fact she is not being fair in return. The judge is holding the prosecution to a high standard, and they are rising to meet that standard by and large. He is not rubber stamping what the DoC says and accepting that things must be just because they're procedure. This is what real justice looks like, in my opinion.

I agreed with the judge as soon as I saw the title of the video.
Sarah was more than willing to talk to investigators. She came with a long list of questions. She was used to being able explain away her actions and not taking accountability.
What did my head in was the Amber Heard “ I’m so innocent and just a weak defenceless damsel” voice.
She knew her rights, understood what was going on and expected things to go her way because she’s a master manipulator and thinks she’s more clever than the average people around her.
    😏

Peter, I agree with you. I don’t know why anyone would agree to talk to law enforcement without an attorney present. This is especially true if they start reading your right to you. Having a lawyer beside you when you are questioned by law enforcement is a right that no one should give up.

Whenever Owens was repeating the quotes from the interview, he always made it sound like the "we just have to do it" was referring to we have to talk. But when you watch the video, the "it" is clearly referring to reading the rights again. Kinda slimy of Owens...

No, Sarah was suspicious of what was happening. She wanted assurance from Detective that this was a "normal" thing to do for folks who were not suspects. She didn't get it either. Detective reiterates it's the same warnings she read yesterday but does not say this is "normal protocol".

If her genuine memory was that all this happened yesterday, she wouldn't be confused about when the detectives would have told his parents their son was dead.
