This movie had me in tears. We are dealing with these same issues in education today. We are so off track in USA. This is my 2nd movie on this channel. I’m here to stay. Great channel.
We said in the description to bring a kleenex!
School busing was the downfall of the black child education
great channel indeed, all the way during this movie, i was thinking about Thomas Sowell. greetings from France madame.
I am a teacher and I feel the exact same. I have been in schools where teachers are allowed to do their jobs with support and it works. I have been in schools that tell teachers exactly what to do for every student and it does not work. This is sad. I really want to start my own school.
@@rockellwarren-daniels5754 The day you do this and need a french teacher i'm in lol. Scooling is the most important topic to get a well functioning and prosper society imo. i'm french, i dont know much about the US (i have an american mother) but i heard abput those charter schools by Docter Sowell, these seem to have great results. I dont agree about every topic with Thomas Sowell, but on this one, i think he's right, and this movie is really displaying that way of seing the topic (sorry if my english sentence isnt that great). I wish you get to start your school one day, kids are the most important to act on to achieve progress.
Cicely was 57 in this, 13 years older than Morgan Freeman. That beautiful lady does not age. One of the most amazing, under- awarded actresses I’ve ever known.
I didn't believe it til I looked of her birth year. Both Cicely and Morgan, I was thinking they were in their late 30s or at least early 40s at the making of this film. They both appear youthful to me. In this film, they are portraying younger parent's of school age children. Shoot that lady at the permit counter looked 57 lol, and I can say that cuz I'm GenX.
Every child needs a Marva Collins ♥️ Ms. Cicely Tyson really did this role justice. A Beautiful movie!
This movie literally brought me to tears. This was black excellence. We are a chosen people by the most high God who can do ANYTHING we set our mind’s to! Phenomenal work!! ❤
One Of Kind Teacher...RIP MARVA COLLINS 🍎🙏🏾🌹

Yeah, this movie really touched my heart... It brought back memories on how much my teachers really cared about our well being and education! Very rare to see in this day and age!
Great movie! I am from Chicago and never knew this story! I love 80’s movies and this was awesome! And still rings true today! Welfare is like slavery! And education is the key!!

What an heart touching film. Thanks for sharing it.
The little boy tapping the pencil on the desk and being disruptive reminds me of a young Ice Cube.
One of my all-time faves of the many, many movies with Cicely Tyson!♥️
When we had real teachers and actual textbooks from each class and trade school inside the classroom.
This movie was very good on get the kids to learn so they can go to college education is always the key for us as poor black folks.

Thank you so much. This is much appreciated. The same thing is going on today. That’s why it’s basically good to homeschool our children teach my own true history, mathematic science and universal ball and again thank you⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Great movie. It makes me think of the teachers that cared and took the time to be personal and were happy to teach.
Sadly, things have changed and are not the same.
Why am I crying?😢
Remember this movie. My mother made me watch this movie.
I love Queen Tyson 🙏🏼🤲🏼💪🏼❤️😘👑

Mrs. Collins reminds me of Mrs. Coe, Ms. McDuffy, and Ms. Peters RIP Queen Mothers I truly appreciate and am grateful for all the lessons you taught me 💖💖💖
Excellent movie. Thanks
Every Educator should no this story, and remember it wasn't about money it was about learning
This Movie is about Learning Everything including Learning about Money. Did you Miss the Part where she took The Children on a field trip to the Stock Exchange?
Also, did you Miss the part in the movie where the little girl was negotiating better prices for items to throw her own party?
Excellent Movie!! Thanks ❤
Thankyou fantastic channel x
What a crime that children are treated as throw away. Some of their parents didn't seem to have much hope either, such as the one that didn't know that her 5th grader couldn't read or write. Morgan Freeman looked like a kid in this movie!
Great actors🎉😊
Such a beautiful movie! 🤍✨
It's a shame because I've never heard of this woman before❤❤
I loved this movie. I was overwhelmed with happiness, while fighting back tears. Love this channel!
I'm lovin this movie already and tearing up.
Beautiful! Thank you!
Thank you too!
Excellent movie
Great movie 🎬 🎞 🎥
Marva Collins, managed to instruct, teach and educate, different ages and used age appropriate skill set for learning. She had one student find a country on a map, she had one student spell a word on the board, and the other student do currency conversion. Her teaching then, is like today's homeschooling, where parents take the initiative to teach their children, because nowadays, public school education, in my opinion, is agenda driven....
excellent movie, hope to find more on your chanel
Stick around. Glad we found each other!
Great movie.
❤❤❤❤❤great film GREAT JOB Cicely 👏 👍
Marva Collins ....then Joe Clark.....
Morgan was 44 in 81 I'm 44 now just seeing this. My brother used to date his grand daughter

11:46 he hit it right on the head. The jealousy that goes on in public education nowadays along with the number of children that get left behind leaves so much to be desired.
