Weaver is a low key legend as a kid actor. Lion King, Jackson special, etc. I remember loving this movie as a kid. Back when Disney/Nickelodeon, and Cartoon Network all had amazing shows and content. The 90s was a true golden era for kids
mychal Corleone Lion King? Did he sing in that movie?
Punky Brewster
nomibe2911 yes he did 👌👌
mychal Corleone The 90s was the Golden Era period. All across the board everything was authentic. Across the board now, everything is Shyt Smh
You ain't NEVER lied smh
This movie never gets old I wish I was still in the 90s those years rocked
the afterlife will be 1990-1999 on an endless loop
You are definitely right! The 90s were the best years of my life

Watched it this morning specifically for the podcast 😂
Me haha. Can't beat these movies
Somehow I never saw this movie growing up, and I couldn't be more glad I just watched it so long after. How touching, and perfect comedic moments as well. SUCH talented kid and teen actors during my childhood and I feel so lucky to have had it back then, now and in the future to always go back and remember that nostalgic feeling during hard times.
On a less emotional note, I nearly DIED at the end when she said she didn't care if he didn't have a dime, the " good cuz I DON'T"-- right on the mark, hilarious :D
Nothing but memories, the 90s was the best decade to be a kid. Classic movie 💯

Jason Weaver was an underrated talent. And he was the singing voice for young Simba. He deserved big things..
Wow I didn't know that. 😍
“I met him in L.A., when a lot of his things were happening at the time, and yes, he went through a “WHOOOOOOOLE BUNCH OF NOT DESERVING THINGS.” But he kept his cool and had his friends support through a lot of the garbage he did not want to except being an artist, and standing up for what was right, even if it meant he’d go down.” I wonder when ever i see this movie what he’s doing now…. Stay great out here. ✌🏽🌎🎼📡….

I just have to say. They do not make good Movies or shows like this anymore. Not even low budget or direct to video or made for television movies like this anymore. I mean the 80's and 90's were truly just unmatched. Even early 2000 was good but around 05 I feel like shit went down hill for television.
yess!!
Damon Cordell who u
Damon Cordell yup
Shit went downhill for almost anything after 2005. Except politics; that went down the drain way before the 2000's. nowadays some people go for remakes of old movies/tv shows like ghostbusters, lethal weapon, rush hour, you name it. they're even making a gender swapped version of ocean's 11 called ocean's 8. Now I'm not saying that all remakes w/girls as main characters, or remakes in general are bad, but it's just an rehashed concept that's already been done multiple times. Instead of people wanting to make or see something new or original they keep beating the same kinds of concepts turned to silver screen to death. Who else would like to see a horror movie where all of the characters make smart decisions, or a car chase movie where cops don't drive like dumbass infidels?

So this is the Alrernate Universe when Shawn ended up with a rich step dad instead of Jack

Michael Gibbs it doesn't seem to. I wonder if he signed some bad deals
Michael Gibbs nah he should be close to 10 million but he’s not anywhere near what he should be. It’s not fair.
He gets Lion King royalty checks for him and his kids for the rest of the their lives. Generation to generation. He confirmed it on his Vlad interview. That's why you don't see him in all kind of crazy projects. He good.

I love this movie so much! Jason Weaver is such an amazing singer, actor and has so much talent. God bless him ❤️😭🤣✨
That Melanin Poppin Queen 😍❤
I love this movie because as Rider Strong’s first starring role in a movie I thought it was great. This came out when he was mid-season one of Boy Meets World and before his character was fully formed on that show so if people know Shawn Hunter on there it is fun seeing him do something where who he plays is the complete opposite of his tv character. While I liked Jason Weaver’s Freddie and his personal growth in the movie it was Rider Strong’s Freddie and his personal growth due to his time at the detention camp that keeps me coming back. In the beginning he was so irritating but as the movie went on he became such a good person. I loved the absolute and pure joy on Rider’s face when his Freddie won the basketball game because it was beautiful. This movie was a great way to show that even at an early age Rider Strong is very good at showcasing raw and honest emotions which would be invaluable as Boy Meets World continued and Shawn Hunter had to navigate many emotional minefields throughout that particular series. This is great because it shows that even at a young age Rider Strong was able to reach emotional depths that adult actors even today sometimes have difficulty with.
