Editing might seem a bit chaotic, but it took 21 variations of this video to get it through the systems so it just be like that sometimes.

as a manga reader it makes me happy the studio did the first episode more justice than i could ever ask for

Although I’m satisfied with how her character ended,I’d be lying if I said I didn’t want a “what if” scenario where Ai survives simply by putting the safety lock on the door. It’s so cruel how this episode made us believe she would be one of the main characters and just rip her way from us right after we fell for her…even when they are the “protagonist”,anime moms just can’t get a break…

The fact that Aqua had felt her body go cold as she hugged him and the thing is most people might write off his trauma considering how he was an adult in his past life compared to Sarina.

The fact that Ai created this much impact on both the storyline and reality really show that she is the greatest star after all… not to mention I kinda feel like AKA Akasaka was planing on giving the whole world emotional damage…

rie takahashi made this perfect, even if her role is only temporary and she will not show up a lot more. her voice acting tied this all together and made it hurt that much more. aka akasaka’s writing is phenomenal and the adaptation could not have been any better. truly one of a kind.

This is the first anime in a long time that I wen in to watch completely blind. No spoilers from manga, social media etc, no opinions from friends and other viewers or readers.

I love how they did the intro becuase it's not one of those "Oh, they had dead parent due to a tragic event," It's "Oh so this is waht happened... Then this... Oh and they are all connected like this..." It shows us and I think that we can build a connection because they demonstate to us why we should care, and ACTULLY gives us the emotions, "then all these happened in this CONTIUOUSE THING, not a sudden short flash back"

I know it’s obvious but it hits me harder personally that her name is ‘Ai’ as in love in japenese. And instead of ‘koi’ which is more romantica ‘Ai’ is the purest definition of love representing the love she learns to have with her family.

i completely agree that Oshi no ko has the greatest opening episode of all time. and i mean it has the unfair advantage of having that 90 minute run time. because of being so long the anime was able to tell a complete story to set up the future of the show. it can kind of be looked at as if this is in fact a movie created as a prologue to the show. i was able to feel so many different emotions, feel like i got an entire story, and still feel anticipated for the future of the show. I’ve recommended this anime to every single person i know, and as an anime only, i can’t wait to see ruby and aqua’s story unfold

Oshi no Ko was honestly such an interesting first episode, one that for sure broke a lot of people's expectations outside of the fact that it was the length of a full movie lol The shift in focus toward the end as the story begins to follow Ruby and Aqua was honestly so smooth and I loved watching Ai's progression as she tried to find it in herself to love people through her lies. I think it was really good that you spoke to the industry side of things as well considering that objectifying these idols as if they are possessions is a really bad habit that idol culture sort of promotes in Japan (Kind of anywhere but Japan has it pretty bad). It can be a pretty nasty business and giving Ai that sort of disconnect in personality between her job and her at home life was really interesting to watch. Great video man, it was hella worth the wait :D

The thing that makes the ending even more depressing is seeing the recording that Ai made of their first birthday to show them when they were older only to see that she didn't live long enough to even see their first day of school

After the countless amount of video essays I have seen on just the first episode, I can confidently say that this one is the best I've seen

When the anime adaptation got announced, my friend immediately told me that its going to be amazing and to avoid spoilers, so that's what I did. I actively avoided every bit of information about this show, and I am so happy I did. Going in completely blind made it hit much harder, and I'm not going to lie when I say I cried (you know when), and I think if it's going to maintain this quality, I think it is going to be anime of the year for me. But I'm sad that as soon as the first episode came out, so many spoilers got released through social media and youtube. During the episode, I was loving more and more Ai's character, and I was heartbroken when the twist happened. Another thing that makes me sad is how a lot of people just skip it based on the cover and the synopsis. On one side, I am happy the synopsis didn't spoil anything, but on the other hand, it annoys me when people skip it thinking it's just another boring sol isekai show.

And to think on the 27th Aka is going to write another series called Love Agency. That means he's gonna do two series all within the same week again. I just hope he doesn't burn himself out like he did when he was finishing up love is war and doing Oshi No Ko at the same time. Hell, after doing love is war he quit drawing to focus on writing.

I was not ready for this when I watched it and the final scene hit me like a sack of bricks, I don't even think it's the fact that she gets stabbed, just the scene following it was so powerful and depressing. 10/10 ep

As someone who loved Aka Akasaka’s previous work in Love is War, with it’s surprisingly in depth and lovable characters, when I heard he started a new series and how good it was I decided to put it off to let it marinate so to speak. So when I heard it was getting an anime adaptation I eagerly waited. And was it worth it. That single episode made me say screw it and catch up to the manga in a single day.

I've tried typing out the way this episode made me feel so many times and I just can't put it into words, even a month later I still can't go to sleep without hearing the words "I love you... aah... I finally said it, that definitely wasn't a lie" as the scene plays over and over in my head.
