Absolutely not, for the linebacker to set his feet, follow the right hip depending on the running back's style, and follow through with an attack that wont offset his advance and give the running back a lane, is very difficult, not to mention 70% of the time the running back is far more quick and versatile than the backer.
+ManicalLaughter you made that way too complicated. It's easier to touch someone coming at you than avoiding a 200 plus pound male in a small gap
+It's all good No. it really is hard for the linebacker. that's why coaches use it as a test for these players. His weight has nothing to do in this drill. It is hard for both players.

The problem with this drill is that its literally set up for the running back to win. The defender can't tackle but has to have full control of his body meanwhile the running back can slip and get a point.

high school football players are smart.. if your a RB go to Alabama all the great RB they produce out of tht school.. of your a o line man go to any school in Sec... if your a defensive player go to Alabama 1st choice or any school in Sec ... if your a QB go to the big 12, ACC, PAC , etc.. where they play no Defense... if you want to win a championship go to Alabama 4 titles in the last 7 years is crazy... if you wanna play for a fun coach go to Michigan... it that simple
