I have this lock as well and like you mentioned, very different feel to the dead core and shackle. Mine picked very easily as well, but it is a really beautifully machined lock.
I agree it's quite nice how they've machined it. I sometimes wonder if I've shaken a screw loose in my head - finding a padlock aesthetically pleasing.
Firstly, I overset pins all the time, especially when I'm feeling out a new lock I've never picked before... I want to feel what the key pins feel like when they're up past the shearline. If you make it part of your routine you'll start to feel how different they are. You'll also not be able to get back any false set, and all your other pin stacks will go spongey. So there's a few indicators. Try putting more tension. Don't listen to the "least tension possible" advice I've seen around. Give a lock the most tension it can handle... which will be different depending on the lock, the security pins, etc... Then you'll get those real nice clicks and it'll all be more clear.

I have the same 1, and I can't do shit with it. That said, my raking and rocking skills are killa. My SSP game is shit. It's hard to teach yourself watching people online. Not you, but say lockpicklawyer 4 example.
I wish LPL still did some good content like in the early days... My production quality is poor, but I at least try to mention any aspect I find that might help pickers succeed. Good luck with yours!

Very nice! I have a couple like this, just not the brass ones... they can be interesting..
I know some people have more fun with these, I think I got an easy one so that's a bit unfortunate.
Can you answer a question for me please. How can you tell when you overset the pin, and whats the best technique to use you pick to lift the pins bro
