The engine lost so much power from the 'fake shift'. Just make the eCVT behave like it should ffs.
Carwow managed under 7 sec with sport mode and brake boost. Seems like brake boosting will remove the dreadful 'shift' and keep the engine in the power band.

This car does not have an eCVT - it's both a series hybrid (engine powers the battery, which drives electric motors) and direct driven by the engine (only at highway speeds and cruising RPMs). Brake "boosting" doesn't really do anything with this powertrain, and the fake shifting doesn't hamper performance even a little bit since the electric motors are constantly applying full power regardless of what the engine is doing.

Interesting numbers, but let's be honest: it is another CVT that emulates shifting with the purpose of the people to stop hating this type of transmission. I´ve even heard that this emulation of shifting makes the car lose acceleration vs the older CVTs that didn´t emulate shifting. I don´t know if that is accurate.

This system is totally different than eg. Toyota's. It's basically electric car without any gearbox. It's has not much to do with CVT, except shortcut. Gears here is just a modulation of a current which goes to an electric motor.
Watch/read more about it. There are good explanations how the whole system works. Petrol engine just serves as generator for 184HP/315Nm electric motor (+ charges battery). There is a time when electric motor is disconnected from the wheels and petrol one is directly connected instead. This is at steady ride at 70Km/h+ up to 100 or something like this. This is because at those speeds it's actually more efficient to use petrol engine than going though electric motor (I assume petrol engine works in its optimal rpm). There is no gearbox any kind (just 1 gear for petrol engine- it's like a 6th gear). All what you hear is just simulation. Recuperation is also more efficient than in Toyota as it directly goes to electric motor (where in Toyota it goes through gearbox). It's almost an electric car with petrol engine :)
