TS was one of the best live bands I have ever seen.I group up in New York and would follow them everywhere they played. The raw sound and energy they had were unbelievable. They had 2 great guitarists and Dee was a tremendous front man for a band. I think how I wish I could go back in time and see them for the first time like I did at L'Amour in Brooklyn. Not knowing what to expect and seeing them on stage for the first time was electric.

Twisted Sister are amazingly underrated! This concert alone shows how talented they were as a group! And apart from their crazy dress style they are anything but GLAM metal. "Knife in the back" "Burn in hell" "you can't stop rock and roll" and "we're gonna make it" sound pretty heavy to me!

I've been a metal head since 1982. I loved T.S and I'm absolutely gutted that I never got to see them here in the U.K. I'd managed to persuade my parents to let me go and see them on the Come Out & Play tour with an older cousin. But the tour was cancelled. Bastard !

Was even on cam during the 'audience participation' bit. The three guys on all sides of me got the mike shoved in their faces to try to sing. I didn't :o)

It crazy how hard bands worked in the 80ties - Twisted put out five studio albums in five years, toured them all - well the last one had only five shows in the tour before it was cut... They also burned out super fast, 1½ from this tour and they were done

I now know more about how these guys got started out from 1972, playing cover songs, through the influince's
of the likes of David Bowie, Iggy Pop, The Rolling Stones, The Kinks, Lou Reed, and many more before Twisted Sister.
Check out the bio-movie of uncovered footage kept by the band here, at,

Funny how they stayed sober throughout the 80's, didn't touch alcohol or drugs at all, and they still got burned, went broke and broke up. Jay Jay talks about keeping an eye on the business side of things, but irony is they made a lot of bad business decisions in the 80's, and that only contributed to their premature demise. I can only hope they're wiser about things the second time around.

I saw Twisted Sister as an opening act for Iron Maiden in Ottawa Canada
    on November 28th 1984.
    For those who where there...
Dee promised us that if we where gonna be really really good tonight, he
was going to change the name of this town...
Ottawa was pretty good but it wasn't... it wasn't meeeeeeaaaaaaan
    enough.
Do you remember what he was going to change the name of this town to?
Do you remember the crowds parading on Bank street while chanting that
name, walking on top of cars & vandalizing an OC Transpo bus?

I Truly wish Rob had prepared himself better before Touring PAINKILLER .
The Vocal strain is Immense... There are Vocal techniques that could have saved his voice from the Brutality of even the slightest of slips with these vocals .
I also wish he would take some time with a specific type of vocal coach and he could bring back that Golden Voice to near Perfection and Range as it ever was...
Hell, give me One weekend with him, I will absolutely bring His Soul Pouring Back Out With Every Note and Nuance and Full Range and Reinforced Falsetto with that perfect Rawkuss Growl .
Rob will Always Be The Metal God \m/

I never really knew what a headbanger was back then or now!
Is it someone whom bangs his head around on concrete walls or metallic lockers?
Does the brain damage occur during the head banging or must you already suffer from brain damage to do the head banging?
