Klingons! This piece is an exploration of the different themes used for Klingons in Star Trek. It turned out a lot longer than I expected, but I wanted to include everything I could. Unlike the other main series Suites, which are chronological, this suite is more a general suite of all the themes in no particular order. Featured are Klingon themes from Into Darkness, The Motion Picture, The Search for Spock, The Final Frontier, The Undiscovered Country, Enterprise, The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine. I do wish there had been some available Voyager music, perhaps from "Barge of the Dead," but TNG-era Klingons are well represented. I tried out some TOS music, but there never really was a distinct theme, so instead I used the fight music from DS9's "Trials and Tribble-ations." Hopefully some of the music isn't too redundant, seeing as some of these themes were already featured in my other suites (like the Star Trek VI Klingon theme)...but I tried to use different cues than the ones I selected in those.
It's hard to pick a favorite Klingon theme, but it's probably a tossup between The Undiscovered Country and the classic Jerry Goldsmith theme for me. What's your favorite Klingon theme? What other themed suites would you like to see?

Another brilliant addition to the Star Trek Mega Suites
It's undeniable that Mr. Goldsmith redefined the theme for the Klingons with TMP soundtrack. Mr. Eidelman was brilliant with his additions and Mr. Horner made Kruge unforgettable.
Look up a movie called "Wolfen." The Klingon battle theme first appeared there.
Excellent mix of STV and TMP:Klingon Battle during the last quarter of this piece. Love the First Contact bit at the end. Finished it nicely.

I ADORE THESE. These mega suites are amazing, especially this one. I hear it while playing Stellaris or doing completely other stuff, and always are having the time of my life!

The best decloaking scene, by my estimates, is in ST IV, as the aptly named HMS Bounty (stolen Bird of Prey) decloaks over the whalers... those bastards were hunting George and Gracie, and got a well deserved "scare of there life"

From the start to 1:40, it's something I've long pictured as being the theme music to a Klingon focused show. Fits with the much more sinister theme that would work as a counterpoint to all the bright future of the Federation focused Trek series.

Star Trek III still sounds very Klingon, but it's actually quite a departure from the Klingon theme from TMP (which is the one used in most subsequent films and TV shows)
I was sitting here, nodding off instead off getting ready to go and do some chores, then this came on and I nearly bounced out of my chair.... Great Stuff!!!! The mixes and the choice placements are amazing!!! Bravo!!!!

My favorite Klingon theme is the same - Star Trek: The Motion Picture by Jerry Goldsmith - the theme, in my opinion, captures the proudness and determination of self preservation of the species
Interesting. I missed some of these themes because I didn't watch Star Trek as much as I used to in the mid to late 90's. An exemplary presentation of the various themes used with the Klingon's appearances in the various Star Trek franchises. Thanks for the effort you put into this. Live Well.

On this I agree. If there ever was a Klingon Captain I would be very afraid to fight. General Chang would be top next to Martok of course. His character alone is a bit intimidating. I would keep my eyes on this one. Qapla. Glory to you and your house.

For starting out as a thinly veiled excuse villain stand-in for the Soviets, the Klingons have evolved into a distinct culture that, while I do not agree completely with, I can understand their reasoning and roll with it. You want something done? Make the other person's honor involved. Show no weakness by asking for help, instead offer a share of the glory in the potential victory.

That theme from the first movie, (starts at 43:00) always associate it with the terrifying majesty of V'ger. The magic of that film just sucked me in utterly and still does.
Great combination! Especially love the earlier movie works, just because of sentiment and how it really stirred me seeing the Klingon ships on the big screen in the "Star Trek: The Motion Picture", but the they've always done well composing music for the Klingon presence. The ST V first part is the one that makes the hairs on my neck stand up, maybe a combination of nostalga, the slightly softer tone it has than some of the other versions of that theme, that makes it sound like they know they are a fading people...but at the same time, by god they are not going to go quietly

I love the Klingon Megasuite the best, then the Vulcan one. The Klingon one has alot of high drama and unusual sounds, the Vulcan one sublime and eerie at times. Reminds me of the various sequences of series and movies.
I can imagine the Kah’ Dech (my Kt’Inga battlecruiser) on its way to honour and glory near some Feklahr-forsaken backwater planet!

The Theme of New Romulus is beautiful, but it is the theme of the more or less democratic successor 'Romulan Republic' and its tone does not fit to the Romulan Empire... th-cam.com/video/yUtHTe-S3Cc/w-d-xo.html
Considering this leitmotif showed up whenever the Romulans did during Ron Jones' tenure (save a few episodes; "The Enemy" and "Tin Man" come to mind), I'd be inclined to say this was definitely the Empire's theme song. =w=
