- Gothic Homemaking returns with this, the first episode of Season Two! In it, Aurelio Voltaire ventures to the wilds of New Jersey to pick up that custom made coffin shaped armoire, and he does it in the only vehicle fitting to pick a coffin up in. He then demonstrates where to find vintage coffin handles and how to make a Mystical Vanishing Chest and Summoning Table.... all while avoiding the fangs of a Russian vampire princess.

My kids want to make their bathroom a gothic bathroom. I could jokingly say that it is "your fault," but I would rather say thank you. They've put their heads together and are designing. I'm sure some of it is the influence of their mother and I, but they've seen your videos and feel like they can create cool things, with supervision of course. One thing I've learned from gothic homemaking: Measurements are somewhat important..
The humor of it being in a tempur-pedic box is not lost on me!
Seeing that... I was peeling in laughter, Ironically i used to work as a forklift operator (Not for FedEx) and had i been the guy in the forklift at that moment. i just would not be able to contain myself Not only because i would be loading up something for Voltaire. But because of the morbid irony of the situation. And i swear if anybody asked why we were loading a tempedic box into a Hearse. i would have responded with "The guys mattress was so expensive he couldnt afford a coffin afterwards"
Because those things are so damned pricey!
I have a bench seat almost like that. I do not recommend taking a nap on it.

Really enjoyed this video. Lots of ideas and helpful info. I LOVE the mystical vanishing chest and summoning table. I want one. You pay such attention to detail like the little gems hiding the corner screws.

Okay.... Who else is rewatching the entire series during quarantine?!? Now, I might have already commented this the first time around, but I would suggest adding a piece of glass beneath the frame... I think it would have made it easier to clean as well as make it look a little more expensive!
Also, I wish Voltaire would do a series of crafts to do during quarantine... maybe found objects, maybe gifts for friends and relatives for the holidays. I am looking forward to his new videos!

I wish I had seen this before I went to London. I managed to go through both halves of Highgate Cemetery and the Astrology Shop (only had one day there). But now I know where to head if I get my art in another show across the pond! Love the Summoning Table! I really want to make one now.

As a New Yorker who grew up near the New Jersey boarder, I'd just like to say that I delight in your dislike of New Jersey. It puts a smile on my face.
And I love the attention to detail! Definitely giving me more than a few ideas for when I get a place of my own when I stop moving around so much!
This video gave me a childhood flashback like no other! When i was a child , my mother always knew I was a strange little thing and I remember her asking me "So when you grow up what kind of car would you drive?" and my answer always was "I want to drive a hearse!" haha
These Gothic Homemaking episodes are the greatest and they also have encouraged me to finish my makeup/art room (aka my sanctuary). Prior to discovering these videos I decorated the room with skull and raven statues because I love gothic aesthetic and Edgar Allen Poe but now you've given me SO MANY more ideas!
