Cosy flat. We are not allowed do anything with our white walls, but our flat is just some years old. We can at least decorate with pics, but need to take away marks if we move. Thanks fully we don't have carpets.

I'm in the process of buying my first house (fingers crossed) but wish I had you two to help decorate it!
One note on media storage: tape will last much longer if it's stored so the tape itself is kept flat. It's not as easy to read cassettes/VHS/8-tracks from the front, but it will last much longer. (Video editor since the 80s here, have seen what happens to tape over time)

This apartment looks fantastic. Very fun and spooky, but still mature. You did a lot for how little you're allowed to touch in this place. I had a record/8 track player about 15 years ago when I was in high school that needed to be repaired, and I wish I'd hung onto it after seeing yours. Also, I really like Re-action Figures and have a Pinhead one that I kept on my desk when I used to work in person.

That is fascinating decoration, I loved the living room, the couches, the candles and the big record player. My great grandma had something similar to that when I was growing up. I can only decorate my room, mainly because my brother lives with me at our own house and he is the opposite of Goth, but he doesn't mind Goth, but him and I plan to make a coffin shaped book shelf for my books.

Hey! Just wanted to let you know, there are several types of click and lock vinyl floorings that can be installed right on top of carpet without damaging it at all, and peel and stick/renter friendly wallpaper/contact paper peels right off after use and is meant to not damage paint if you're really wanting to change your floor/walls! [Regular wallpaper can also just be thumbtacked in place instead of pasted down!]

Even with the white walls it sets a great aesthetic. I think dark walls would be too overpowering. Dark curtains would be a better option, maybe scarlett with black borders and trim. And if you could put the lamp candles on dimmer switches. But I love your sense of decor. Even using colored bulbs or gels would work for lighting effects.

You should switch out your outlet and wall switch plates for either metal black ones or gothic ones. I live in an apartment and all of my outlets were tan, they looked sooooo ugly, they were painted over and had lines on them (from the 60's or something) so I bought cool metal black ones and a gothic one for the light switch that looks really cool
The Doom Poster is sooooooo cool. Doom is my favorite series of games. I played Doom 2016 and it was like my favorite game, then I played Doom Eternal, I also played Doom 1 and 2 but I didn't complete those. But Doom 2016 and Eternal were my favorite games and were cool to play

this is cool. i suppose in a perfect world my pad mite look like this someday but my mom made us move all the time when we were kids even when there was no reason to do so and then as an adult i never came anywhere near being able to afford to buy anything and so always had to rent and have roomates which meant my room was all i could really ever trick out since none of my roomates were alternative folk. that plus i can't get past the idea that i may have to move any minute and the more you decorate the more effort it is at moving time.
but who knows, maybe someday.
I can't wait for Halloween season so I can shop for home decoration a lot. 🖤

I love using Halloween decorations for home decor as well, so in the fall I'm on a mad hunt! Have you ever thought about maybe decorating with the stick on Halloween bats? You can put them on your walls using poster putty. I found some on Amazon.. although I read that the adhesive they come with have damaged Walls, so I use the poster putty. I also live in an apartment so I get you. 🦇🦇🦇🦇🔥🖤

Yeah I ended up having the cute the metal shorter and then steel stick the piece that holds the bulb in place, it wasn’t too hard luckily!

Relate to the abundance of throw pillows, music media, and candleholders of every kind 😂 (plus I have the same weird 70s trifold bathroom mirror…not ideal for outfit selfies) also Black Cathedral is such a bop!
The only pros to the mirror is that it’s great for being able to angle it to see the back of my head when teasing my hair, and the storage 😂

i also live in a apartment nd i wish i could paint my walls black or my door at least but hte walls have a faded purplish tone so it fits well with my black curtains and other things i own that r black im planning on getting bat shelfs and such the coffin mirror looks cool and the pillows my room tho is gonna be skull themed since i already own stuff that have skeleton bones on them my mother bought me a coffin tin thing where icould prolly store pencils and pens in prolly and a skull thing i could put stuff in

That is such a cozy and beautifully decorated apartment! Love the color scheme! I am just confused, why you are not allowed to paint the walls or get rid of that carpet, you don't like. I live in Germany and we are pretty much free to do whatever we want with our apartments, as long as we paint all the walls white and renew damaged things, when we are about to move out.
Thank you! In the US most apartment complexes do not allow you to make any changes like paint and flooring. There are condos which are like apartments that you can but many apartments won’t even let you put holes in the walls to hang anything up.
We even tried to ask about paying for new flooring in the kitchen ourselves but the landlord said no because they like the carpet 😭

It's not the landlord who has to live in your apartment, it is you and you should be able to feel as comfortable as possible in your own home. I'd go crazy if I wasn't allowed to paint the walls or hanging my favorite paintings, pictures and posters up. 😬 I love what you did with the options you've had. I really enjoyed your apartment tour.
