    Hurricanes apparantly were easier/quicker to repair as they were of metal and fabric construction and could take more punishment than the all metal Spitfire. My Grandfather was a specialist ground crew member in 'fabric' repairs on Hurricanes. Lest we forget them all. Nuff said.

    You state that Germany was planning to invade England. In fact, the situation was far more serious , as they were also planning to invade Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
