I've been watching your videos ever since I bought my 2023 GT-Line with Technology package (69 miles) back in early December... only to have it totaled in a rear-end collision while stopped at a red-light. That said, I refused to settle for anything less and was surprised to find out that the 2024 GT-Line actually has all the features of the Technology package and more. I seriously love this car. Got mine in the Sporty-Blue and drove it off the lot even less miles, 31.
Great choice using Tuxmats (a local Canadian company too!), I will never use anything else on my vehicles. If your insurance decreases some more in a couple of years, I would highly recommend a Forte5 GT Limited. Hopefully Kia will still be making the hatchback! I got mine this past October and have been really impressed for what features you get for the price. And if I take it easy when cruising, I can get the mileage down to 6L per 100km. Keep up the great work on the channel!
It's really a shame that the Forte and Kia in general get so much bad press. I have never had one problem with my Forte. People have to understand its basic transportation and if you look at all of its safety features. I hate to even call it basic Transportation but the car's been a lot of fun and I'm absolutely satisfied with it. Here in the United States we have a horrific theft problem with Kias and Hyundais but they fixed the issue by the time that I bought my car. I think that's why the cars got a bad rap. If you're looking for basic fun Transportation with the bells and whistles, I would buy the car again and again. It's never left me stranded and I've enjoyed it
Ive had my base a$$ forte for 7 years now. What i dislike... Very cheap looking inside and out. And as you said, it's so underpowered and slow. What i like... Great fuel economy. Very reliable in the 72K miles driven. No issues yet. This will be the last year with it as I plan on getting a new car. 2025 K5 GT, Civic type R, Elantra N, BMW 230i are currently on my list. Good luck Gabi! I think your next car will be the K5 GT 😅
I have 1 too, GT limited though. It’s a great car at its price point, shockingly fast sometimes..not a huge fan of the DCT though. Drive it like your grandpa and I’ve sean 5.9 litres per km.
Absolutely a great starter car Gabi. I forsee a...say... K5 GT Line with AWD in a...white on black interior like this one here. Yes, that it what the gods are telling me! They are also telling me after that you will be driving a Stinger GT that someone was taking good care of for you while you were working up to that level. It will be so! The gods have willed it!!
Gabs, honestly which do you think is a better looking car? The forte gt or the k4? I got the 24 gt in silver and I love it. My previous car was a 21 awd k5 gt line and I like the forte better. There is something weird looking about the k4 but I want to hear your opinion since you own a forte too.

It’s a tie for me right now, I’ll have to report back once I see them side by side!
NEXT car - humm - you know, the Hybrid Elantra has that naturally aspirated 1.6 (no turbo) and it comes with a simplified 6 speed dual clutch that is protected from bad "manual transmission clutch habits" so the electric motors protects it from that (low speed engagement), it has the good rear suspension. Also in Canada you have to get the super deluxe model, so the interior would be very luxurious. It gives you the pep without bad mileage - no idea if insurance likes them or not though. SUV - the darn Tucson (refresh looks very nice inside) and again maybe hybrid - but the 2.5 engine had the 8 speed auto which is excellent too.
Great suggestion, if I choose to get another sedan, the hybrid Elantra is definitely a strong contender for my next car! The fuel mileage is incredible!
I think you made the better choice without getting a turbo charged engine, they actually are more prone to having engine problems and people tend to get more speeding tickets than with a naturally aspirated engine. Your car looks great and you should be proud that you have kept it looking nice and in good condition.
Went gt on purpose cause the 1.6t is much stronger built than the 2.0 n/a. So far the engines handles the like 300 times ive done 200+ and dct still shifting smooth. I think Motorweek did a review on the Forte with the 2 liter engine and reported a 0 to 60 time of 8.5 seconds. Doesn't sound too slow for an inexpensive economy car. What is the recommended service interval for the IVT transmission fluid changes?
Oh - and then the new K4 came wandering in - it could be very interesting as they are saying K4 and not K3. If larger, what motor do they put in as the base ... hummmm. We have to wait until month end.
I love the 1.6 turbo in the GT. However, when I was looking to buy a car, my insurance was almost $600 a month for it. Absolutely not worth it at that point.
$600 a month? I'm glad I don't reside in Canada. I'm 35 and pay $320 for 6 months for my 2 vehicles. Comprehensive for my 2023 Kia Sportage Hybrid SX prestige and liability for my 2002 Toyota rav4.
@@Brayant25 yep, it was $500 and something per month to get the turbo. Mind you I was 20 at the time I was shopping around and had speeding tickets. But still, absolutely ridiculous. Even now with a semi-clean record (1 ticket) I pay $300 a month.
Hey, great question. Unfortunately, it does not look like we will be getting wireless CarPlay. I was hoping in the future they would provide us with a software update. But it seems that the hardware does not actually allow for a wireless experience:(
Probably too late for an answer but what level of tint did you get...from the video it looks pretty dark but im curious if its really that dark or just the interior lighting in the shop making it seem so dark
Wait, are you even allowed to tint front drivers and passenger windows in Canada? I am pretty sure you can't in GTA and in Vancouver. Also your window tint looks pretty dark from the outside. Yes, you can see from the inside to the outside easily, however anyone looking in would be difficult, and I think the police have a law against that for front windows. I might be off base here , in Vancouver it is definitely against the law to do so.
