Great review Anthony. You get a lot of car for the $$. I really like the design but I'm with you in that Kia should have made this a hatch. It just makes cars so much more practical and accessible . I do wish that manufacturers would stick with the same model names instead of having new ones lol! It's hard to keep up 😁 I've seen a lot of damage up in North Carolina and I really hope everyone is able to recover from the storm. We got up to 109 here but it's still cooling into the 50s at night which is awesome. I got to stay in and soak up the AC but will be out and about tomorrow. How are things on your side today? I hope that the water keeps subsided there and that all is well. Happy Monday Anthony
Thank you James. The k4 is awesome but the hatchback is stilled missed. I agree the nameplate changing is too much, it also helps add depreciation to the old models so if someone is looking for a Forte now is the time lol. I know it’s sad the storm did a lot of damage. I pray for everyone’s safety and hope recovery goes smooth. That is hot weather we got up to 101.4 and Isa said wow that’s hot dad lol. Gotta say I gotta the Kia k4 almost day it came out. I was looking at the K5 but didn't wanna spend 30k. Was walking around and spotting the morning haze edition and fell in love. She handles great and gives me the features I was looking for. As well as the miles per gallon difference that my Nissan frontier was giving. 10 outta 10 love it. Plus the settings let you change almost anything you want to.
You didn't happen to get it from Dickson City/Blakely Kia? Me and my buddy were looking at these today and noticed they had a random frontier in the lot haha
Currently driving one of these as a rental in Florida. I have a truck and 3rd row SUV at home. This car isn't bad and has plenty of room, considering the class it's in. If I was in the market for a car like this, I would think about it, but maybe with the turbo engine.
Good review. I bought a new 2017 Hyundai Elantra. It has the same engine that's in this car. I put 105.000 miles on it and the engine was absolutely fine. Still ran like new, used no oil between changes. It did have a 6 speed automatic which also had no issues. In fact the car had 0 repairs, and 0 issues. Even the brake pads were still original, and still didn't need replacement. In 2021 I bought a new K5 GT LINE with premium package. I kept the Elantra for my 80 mile round trips for work. I retired 6 months ago, and though I loved the Elantra, I just didn't need it, and in California annual tags for it are still around 240 dollars, and insurance was 123 a month. So I sold it and the fellow who bought it was very happy to get it. It literally looked like new in and out. My k5 has the 1.6l Turbo and 8 speed transmission that is in this k4 Gt line. Its a great performer, pretty dam quick, and at 42.000 miles now the entire car has been flawless. This Forte replacement is awesome! I also got very lucky that kia was offering a 0.0 intrest promo, I got that and it sweetened deal.
I test drove the LXS yesterday with a friend. As the passenger, I was impressed. Very impressed. When we approached the car it had lights on the front door handles! On a compact car! Everything inside the card was nice! The AC setup was interesting but one could get used to it.
I got the K4 turbo with technology package. The interior and the ride is so smooth. I can easily hit 100 and not feel anything but gliding. I was a Mazda enthusiast until they stopped making the 6 , ( which I had previously). Smoothest ride of all the cars I’ve owned and test drove.

My son bought a K4 EX $25000 out the door with the upgraded warranty at 15 years 150000 miles horsepower is fine for a daily the radar cruise suffers in the rain but not a big deal.If I could add anything to it would be heated seats in the EX.

i recently was given one of these as a dealership loaner vehicle while mine was being serviced. all in all, it’s a nice car! though i did feel as thought the engine was lacking in term of response time and speed. plus the petal was hard to reach even with the seat being far forward (i’m 5’7”) which i thought was odd. but other than that i didn’t mind it

I’ve got a ‘24 Forte gt and glad of it. The looks of the K4 apparently are polarizing with some people singing the praises of the design and others describing it as hideous. It’s just meh to me and not nearly a good looking as the Forte. Also, they detuned the 1.6L turbo from 201 to 190 hp and replaces the 7 speed DCT with an 8 speed auto. Great review.
Originally walked into a dealer and wanted the exact car you own, drove that one and the K4, and for the slight price difference, K4 is way nicer. Looks 5 years newer both inside and out, and has wayyy more features and new tech than the forte. I love both but went with the newer car with 0 miles for slightly more.
I feel my corolla fits more cargo than the majority of sub compact suvs. Sure the numbers are larger for the suv, but a car has so much more usable space in my opinion. I hate to have to stack everything and play Tetris. So much more usable floor space in a car

I don't see the GT trims on the Kia site. Are they coming in the future? How did you find out about them? The back of this car looks like it was added on.
Why they put big plastic on the back of frontseat , lots of cars do this, don't know why, can't just be all same materials? Why putting plastics for the back of the front seat...
My concern is the engine will not last. Same is with the transmission. KIAs looking fine. But, if you want to keep your vehicle longer than 100,000 miles, you may want to think twice!
