Étude Op. 10, No. 4 in C♯ minor, is a study for solo piano composed by Frédéric Chopin in 1830. It was first published in 1833 in France, Germany, and England as the fourth piece of his Études Op. 10. This passionate study, a very fast Presto con fuoco, features continuous sixteenth notes (semiquavers), in perpetuum mobile fashion involving both hands.

@@misterling645 Well, this piece is mainly just arpeggios, scales, and chords. I recommend learning the scales shown in this Etude, practicing chords and arpeggios, at a slow pace and work up to a quick one. I just finished learning the Etude today, actually.

If not Wim Winters you'd never come up with that "authentic tempo" theory, it's silly to say if Chopin played any of his oen pieces in that tempo or not since we don't know that. My personal opinion is, that it may work for classical works, but not for anything further than early-romanticism(Mozart, early Beethoven, Bach etc.)

The theory is an interesting theory. However, my only problem with it is that the speed does not match the Italian tempo markings.

I think of the way metal progressed and how what was considered heavy 50 years ago is considered weak now. Metal just gets faster and heavier like the way people keep adding more spice to their food and get used to it. It wouldn't surprise me if people ended up doubling the speed of the pieces over hundreds of years. My grandma said Beethoven was crazy when I had showed her the Moonlight Sonata 3rd movement. A lot of these pieces still sound really aggressive at half the speed.

Actually you shouldn't study an Etude with Synthesya 🗿
Aside that, if you're not good at sight reading, you can visualize much more easily structures like arpeggi, chords, octaves, etc.
You don't have to learn every single note, in fact

Reading sheet music can be very hard, especially to people whose piano skills are far more evolved than their sheet music reading skills.

Slowing it down can give you a better understanding of what's going on. I can't read bass yet (grew up with a saxophone, bad transition) But I agree for the most part. This pretty much requires sight reading. I'm pretty sure every viewer can deduce that much, or they're just fucking super human with patience.
