- I started studying this Ballade 10 months ago!!! Yep a long time!!! It was so challenging but if I keep practicing my family will kick me out of the house! I feel I could still improve.. but this is probably the best I can do today...
10 months practice for 11 minutes song... insane!!
I have a challenging job managing my business and with 2 kids in our family I am only able to practice about 1 or 2 hours per day sometimes more.
But I set my goals and step by step, day after day I got this piece done!
Thanks to my teacher, Amarylli Fridegotto, that is helping me improve my piano playing.. best teacher ever... if you live in Miami area and want to improve your piano or have your kids learn piano she is the one!
Remember it's never too late to learn piano..

When the second theme comes in for the first time, I feel like most people play it so fast, I think the tempo you chose was really nice. It makes it feel more sweet and precious

constructive criticism here, love how you played and trained it! Although in some parts you play too slow, which I personally enjoy because you can tell the amount of passion and rubato you put into it, but that still doesn't allow the piece to progress in a more natural and more climatic way when needed! Perfect nonetheless, your steinway has a beautiful sound too.

Truly amazing. I love how each note was properly given time to shine and though some may believe that it should be played faster, it is much more heartfelt at your tempo. Chopin believed in individuality for fingers and notes as opposed to fingering speed and it is truly displayed here. Bravo

Bravo! Well interpreted! One tiny thing, I hear my teacher saying: dont lift the hands from the keys if the music isnt finished (at the end). Also, in a situation where your hands do not have to do anything, you shouldnt not take the hands from the keys, instead better think about how to choreograph to express where the music is at this moment (for example a slow move to the next keys suits some situations). This is a very challenging piece; its one of the hardest IMO. When anyone learns how to play it, its impressive, honestly. The only feedback I would give would be to increase the tempo slightly. Id also say to let if fly and dont be as reserved with the emotional expressiveness thats conveyed through the sounds...ie communicate and express the strong emotions through the dynamics of your playing. You started to let loose a little at this part: 9:55 and let let me music take over. Lastly, the richness of the sound that comes for your people is incredible!

I own a Kawai GS30 that has a softer action and I am able to play more naturally.. this steinway has amazing sound and velocity control but it’s a bit heavier, hence I need to achieve a better technical level to master it.. I am planning to play and record again in few years.. hopefully by then I can play it better.

Hi! So you play by ear? It’s a very complicated piece to learn by ear, I would get a teacher if that’s a possibility. Otherwise you can use apps like MuseScore. It will play as slow as you want showing you the notes and that could help you a lot.. let me know how it goes.. also start studying the coda asap.. very very slow

Hi, thanks for listening! I played piano when I was a kid till teenage but never seriously… till I started again 7 years ago and then started taking lessons 2 years ago. My teacher, Amarylli Fridegotto has been huge help to get me where I am today. She teaches a technique that she got from different teachers from Italy and Russia. I started studying the coda first and then going backward.. lots of hours of practice and lot of patience…
