    Thank you. Just blaming someone for everything wrong only makes things worse. Another way is actually through morale. I experience time and time again that teams with good morale performs the best. Yelling at someone for their bad performance destroys morale, and leads to worse performance.
    Good morale is important in every kind of teamwork.

      Agreed. I play on xbox, so even if we're not doing so hot I try to keep my team in good spirits. Sometimes we pull a win out of it, sometimes not, but we generally end the match in a good mood and ready for more. Way more beneficial to offer constructive feedback than just telling people to uninstall.

      I'm a total noob at Conquest. I've only played three games of Conquest, ever, and this is my first MOBA. I've been pretty lucky to have had pretty understanding teammates, even though I usually just set up a McDonald's in the dual lane for the enemy team =/ I always end up playing better after helpful advice and encouragement. I can see from the looks of these comments that my experience is probably rare.

    • @Ptolomey
      @Ptolomey 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +James Grant also dual is definitely the easiest lane to play on at first, because your support/carry can help fix your mistakes, so I'd suggest practising that and then move to mid/solo, save jungle for last though, by far the most difficult role to play :)

    • @jamesg4460
      @jamesg4460 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! I find those roles are a bit more familiar for me, since I'm a migrant from RPGs. Still getting the hang of the mechanics-- especially wards, escapes, and timing visits to the fountain. I appreciate the advice-- I'll stick to it.

  • @GeneralBrysi
    @GeneralBrysi 8 ปีที่แล้ว +29

    I think the easiest way to fix this problem is to introduce skill based matchmaking. That would fix all these problems so you dont get in games with people who have never played the game before and use their ult to clear lane.

    • @TinFoilHatx
      @TinFoilHatx 8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Yep. As someone who is constantly forced into the support role to even have a chance to not deal with shit players, i can tell you that shit players arent a rarity, this is coming from someone who plays casually and my casual MMR is high enough to be placed with GMS/Diamond in both Conquest and Arena.
      The matchmaking is soo bad in this game that i regularly go on breaks for months on end because it never changes and i can only try my hardest soo much and be disappointed soo much that my efforts are constantly worthless.
      I dont even bother touching ranked because its the exact same experience, its worse though because players get into brackets they dont belong and somehow can keep that rank regardless of going as low as a 40% w/l which makes zero fucking sense no matter what perspective you take on it. I mean there were PLENTY of masters with 40%~ w/l before gm was implemented.

    • @SamArrow
      @SamArrow 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Matchmaking is based on skill. It tries to pair with people who have an elo close to yours, and the average elo of each team is around the same number. The only problem is that it doesn't even slightly work and hi rez refuse to acknowledge complaints about it.

    • @simply_marko
      @simply_marko 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      EXACTLY. WE NEED THIS!!
      What I'm also thinking is a new method for conquest. Before you queue, you are required to chose a role so there will be no more unhappy teammates or instalocks. You can only start a game if there are each of 5 roles in both teams: adc, solo, supp, jungle and mid. Adcs dont have to play hunters only, mid dont have to play mages only etc. Just calling roles in a more "official" way i could say.

    • @Yoids
      @Yoids 8 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Guys, the game is already skilled based for matchmaking. I know it is difficult to understand, but that 2-9 player has the same skill as you most of the time (unless strange hour and noone online). This game they are doing poorly, other game you will be doing poorly and that same guy will be 10-2 thinking why he was matched with a n00b like you.

    • @katielim5582
      @katielim5582 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Yoids yeah I agree. plus this game is made for anyone who wants to play. if they're just starting to play smite and failed, it's okay. they are just starting out. also having high players and lower player together is good, because you can teach them to be better instead of just playing for yourself. There are high player meaning these low player have the potential to be up to you, so help them out.(remember it's a community of people everyone has different skills, they just haven't found their right playstyle for them yet.) sure it can suck, but you can't really blame them. we have to also consider that they might be learning a new god that might be out of their play style. So play nice.

    Just something about toxic players, Rainday! I had this game where i was not playing on my best level as Scylla and i was receiving alot of hate from my jungler. He was so blinded by his hate that he started doing stupid stuff as nemesis (doing boars while there's a teamfight in duolane, not helping other teammates, solo'ing the gold fury ,...) We lost, obviously.
    Then the next ranked conquest game i queue, that jungler was on the other team as jungler. He even started whispering me with stuff like: "This is easy game, you are a bot". And guess what? This IMPROVED my motivation and level of skill that game. I did some really good plays as Janus and when i killed the BM jungler i spammed VEL just to make him mad some more.
    The point is now, even when we lost that game after 60 minutes or so (it was a close game), this is by miles the most fun i had with a ranked game in months. It felt so good playing well against the guy that was bullying/blackmouthing me before.

      Well a good start would be to tell them to stop in a calm fashion. If that doesn't work then try to adjust your own playstyle around their actions. Annoying as that may be it's better than nothing and can still allow you a chance to win. Depending on the character I play I tend to use those type of players as bait to lure the enemy out and possibly catch them in a poor position if they are getting greedy with getting kills from said bait. If that doesn't work then whatevs not every game can go perfectly i suppose : P. Know I ain't Raynday but I hope the advice helps nonetheless.

    I'm really bad about getting angry at people who don't know what they're doing or keep screwing the team over by being too aggressive, sometimes. I'm typically calm about it, but if I've had a bad time where several games in a row someone has disconnected and I get into a game where, finally the whole team is there, but somehow it would be better if someone wasn't, I get really frustrated. I apologize to anyone who's been on the receiving end of my bad day

    • @alpaca150
      @alpaca150 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      When it becomes like that, I recommend just taking a step away from Smite or just going afk all together when the match ends instead of giving people shit. Being on the receiving end of harassment on Smite it can be super discouraging.

    • @ztsb45
      @ztsb45 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +alpaca nono, it's mostly me just spamming the vgs, I don't actually say anything *usually* my bad for the miscommunication. I spam thing like woo-hoo and awesome, I'm on console so I don't type anything. OCCASIONALLY of someone is blaming things on the entire rest of the team via voice chat, I'll talk crappie back to them, but that's usually if they start it.

    • @ztsb45
      @ztsb45 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +alpaca sometimes I do. if they're being given particularly toxic, I simply tell them to stfu and let people play once or twice before muting them.

    • @Wolfsification
      @Wolfsification 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can say gently to someone how to improve their game. A lot of time, when someone is giving me shit, I told him: What can I do to be better? And they stay open mouthed or continy with their shit. I'm not messing with you! I really want to know how to be better!

    • @ztsb45
      @ztsb45 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Wolfsification oh, I do. I've openly asked people many times what they think I'm doing wrong, with sincerity, so I can fix it. but if the person going 0-10 starts bashing the team saying everyone else is bad, and won't listen to reason about how they shouldn't be so aggressive and should stay back to farm so they can catch up, then they don't deserve the kindness at that point.

    This is super important. Especially the "giving them tasks" thing because often times bad players are new to the game or dont know how to play any better and stuff like that really helps them.
    When I was new to smite I lost so many games until in one of them a friendly Ymir told me to "stay behind him" and "wait for him to engage" and generally giving me tips on how to improve and not die as much. And it helped so freaking much.

    How I deal with bad teammates.
    1. Don't blame them it's just a game.
    2. Sometimes people are new to these games other times sometimes the other team is really good compared to them.
    3. When the game is over send them a message give them any info how to use & build that character.
    I understand the frustration of bad teammates, but it's just a game start another game.

    Hey Raynday!
    Thanks for sowing positive seeds into the gaming community! Your message is really needed and adds a much needed aspect of good sportsmanship to the Esports world!
    A few other helpful tips in keeping the games positive and of good spirits are these
    1. Communicate items that would be helpful to build AND Why. Instead of insulting people's builds try to give them a better option to feel good about to help improve the quality of the game
    2. Don't waste your time typing messages about bad performance. It literally allows seconds to pass that you could be helping/accomplishing goals. Instead make your message about what you see is wrong, and what the SOLUTION is to the problem. This delivers a full criticism that redirects the energy of your team to rallying together instead of trying to hate on one another.
    3. If someone is being mean to you, ask them what they would do differently and to speak kindly. This reminds them that the problem can be worked through and they aren't trapped with some troll that is trying to lose the game to upset people.
    4. PRAISE, PRAISE, PRAISE, If you give an instruction and it works give positive affirmation. Nothing is better than that (VER) or (VEA) after a good call by a teammate to switch from a poor item choice or a reminder to rotate after a wave
    5. Ask, don't Command. This shows that you aren't trying to be their overbearing teammate. Say Please/Thank You, this keeps up a positive attitude throughout the entire game.
    6. If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. You are wasting time focusing on their performance instead of focusing on what can be done to help them. Communicating displeasure with a teammate is about as useful as throwing a keyboard or mouse, it provides no benefit.
    Being a good teammate is about respect, communication, and willingness to compromise, make sure you practice these too!

    Positive energy rather than negative energy REALLY goes a long way. I do this all the time while playing smite. If someone is having a bad game this is honestly what I do. Especially because most players, (Including me) have bad games. Try to bring the moral up instead of focusing on your tilt. Try to balance back out your tilt and have that GOOD game. Love this video, thanks a lot Raynday!

      Most bad team mates are those that just constantly over extend themselves and die and leave you in a constant disadvantage in the DPS numbers game. Be conservative and let your enemy be the aggressor. The biggest issue is don't dive unless you know you will survive. I am a very aggressive player and I love to tower dive but I know if I die from the dive the Exp advantage I lose. when. I die and they get the same Exp when I die. play smart play the long game out build and you will win the majority of the time.

    Some good advice Raynday. Too many times I've seen players on my team stop in mid lane and bash on another teammate who is under-performing, which in turn doesn't help either. Also folks, don't get discouraged if the under-performing teammate doesn't heed your advice like sticking near the tank or focus farming to catch up on levels. It happens.

    I noticed a lot of people talking about toxic/rude players so here is something I do. When it comes to people being toxic I like to say either "k" or "ok" to anything they say most of the time because most of time I find it stops them dead in their tracks quickly or at the the very least they ignore it and keep being salty/toxic, but I use that as a free self esteem because I think to my self "boy at least I am not this toxic or salty most of the time". Also, sometimes not saying anything can be a better course of action, but whatever you do DON'T BE RUDE,TOXIC, OR SALTY BACK TO THEM because it will likely make them worse and they may play worse since they are even more pissed or they may feed intentionally or go afk. Hope this helps anyone looking for some advice/help and keep up the epic work Raynday :)

    I do really agree with you Raynday, but experience taught me to not deal with people who is performing a game which is making the team lose, and are not wiling to listen or take any piece of advice. So, what i do is to block them after the game. It might seem radical, but all of us know and had experience with these "trolls". Even though is very nice whn you have a team who comunicates and help! It only happens one out of twenty games. And also, there's people who dos not know the dynamics of the game and get killed often, and apologies or ask for help; this is when i do try to help. Hey Raynday, nice video. Love what you do! If I could make a suggestion for a video? You should make a video about your top favorite smite God skins. Might be a little different than your regular videos, but I think it'd still be entertaining nonetheless. Keep up the great work!

    The problem I have....and usually its with friends. They do not take my advice, I know they aren't the best players but when I tell you small ways you can do better or do something different to allow me to help you not die its just doesn't work. I get "its just a game" or straight to "You are being bossy I am not going to listen" and it fucking pisses me off when I don't say anything or just make a annoyed sound and then they ask what they did but then still don't listen. Lucky I only have 1 friend who is all three of those, worst part is that one friend wants to always be teamed up with another friend that actually knows what he is doing and listens and I can't always team up with him.

    You should make a guide on my favorite guardian-Xing Tian! I definitely think that even though his alt is a little slow, he should be more used in the meta! I've been playing him since I started, and my absolute recommended build is: shoes of focus, breastplate of valor, ethereal staff, gem of isolation, stone of Gaia, and mystic mail. He can be combo' together with MANY gods, and I believe making him one of the strongest guardians in the game! (:

    • @valorxbl1577

      Highly favored combo is use ult to throw enemies into teammates, use your 2 for stun, and then 1 for extra immediate + chip damage :)

Sometimes I'd just go for the kill even if i was going to die and put #Worth

    #2 is actually _incredibly_ helpful! You just have to be careful to word it properly, since most players that are playing poorly are going to want to jump to their own defense and not cooperate.

    The only issue I every have to deal with are with people that just aren't playing their role or playing they play the role wrong. And the worst part is that they try and argue. The biggest issue though is people that do fall behind and make zero effort to catch back up and just surrender or straight up leave. I generally just get frustrated and deal with it. Unless they do, then I'll adjust my playstlye and play around them and hope we can pull off a victory.

    Hey Raynday I love your videos! I would really, really like to know your opinion on how to deal with people who are bad teammates but they also blame YOU for their deaths, even when you're actively trying to help them. I honestly am not a hostile ally and I do my best to deal with even the worst teammates.. but I have no clue how to deal with those people who feed and then constantly blame you for them doing stupid shit. I've had this happen a lot recently and I honestly have no idea what to do in those situations.

    We need a video about the bulling that is happening in smite. When you play normal vs not ranked you always get that one person that autolocks, and then tries to bully someone to be a tank or such. There was a really bad one the other day where he told us if didn't pick a tank he would report us so someone choose a tank, he said if we lost he would report us... Spammed thats too bad everytime someone died and was really toxic.

Tell me how and Athena in base ults me and I am also in base. How does a Poseidon ult a mana camp. Chang'es ulting phoenixes. When that happens I simply take the dealers breath I can, buy a high damage item immediately and go kill somebody. Generally speaking, it's okay to be pissed, but muuuch better if you don't bm your teammates midgame. That just makes it worse, since it throws off everyone's concentration, wastes time with typing, and makes people more upset which just messes with their performance even more.

      I've had many games like that. Maybe not 32-2 but I carried hard or peeled/body-blocked as much as I could on a support. I lost 8 games straight once even though I was overperforming, but just had a really bad string of luck with teammates (got grouped with a party of 4 once with an elo between 600-1400 against another party of 4 with a solo with an elo between 1800-2200). Needless to say I was not very happy, though I didn't BM or bash my team. Just stepped away from smite a few days.
