    The best tip for newer players, without a doubt, is tip #3. If you focus on what your team DIDN’T do or you’re always blaming your team for you getting bopped instead of focusing on what YOU did wrong, you’ll see minimal improvement in your gameplay, if any at all. I did that a lot when I started playing years ago and when I abandoned that type of thinking, my gameplay improved significantly. Love the vid, all the tips are incredibly helpful.

    Le me add a few more:
    - If your team killed 2 or 3 people, don't stay around dancing in front of the tower/phoenix with the intention to pick another kill, go and do an objective like gold or fire
    - If all the enemy team (or at least a bursty mage like poseidon or vulcan) is alive, DO NOT start the fire gigant, in my experience the team that starts the fire ends up losing it
    - Afert the 20min mark the lane face is over, if now is the time to think about doing fire, don't go to farm to the opposite side of the map, stay with your team, look for chances
    - WARD, please for the love of god, a ward makes a difference between life and death, especially during laning face
    - If you don't see nobody for the enemy team for a while DO NOT roam around the map alone, chances are you are going to find 4 of them in your face and now with you dead they can do objectives more easily
    - Follow your support. If you are being chased, check if your support is near, they might have a shell or a sprint or some cc to save you.
    - Do not chase kills. Similar to the one of the previous points, after killing 2 or 3 people some junglers decide to chase somebody to the end of the world for that Fking K/D/A rating, instead of doing that group up with your team and do objectives
    - Check the enemy spawner times. If you want to take down a phoenix for example, quickly check the spawn timers of your enemies, if they are next to respawn run away. Remember that if all 3 phoenixes are up they will have a speed boots for 10 secs or so, so they will catch up to you
    - Press tab often. Check the enemy builds, check who has beads at the beginning of the game, check if somebody is building full healing or full tank. A lot of people wonder why an afro or an eset is so hard to kill and is because they went full supp.
    - Say when an enemy is missing. VFF, or VF1/2/3 to say if an enemy is missing for your teammates so they know if they should stop the preasure in the lane. Also, follow that call, if from mid they are telling you that the enemy is missing just backoff
    - As a supp, you don't have to kill yourself for a jg who decided to 1 v 5. Your death is not worth it.
    uff, I'm tired of writing. Have a nice one

      The game is so situational that it's hard to set a tip as dont chase a kill or don't start fire. The real tip would be to know when chasing a kill is worth vs when it's not. And if you want to bait a fight with ward advantage you want to leash fire. Those tips work for low mmr but higher aka diamond to masters is more looking at your own gameplay and not worrying about anyone else's. Sometimes tower seizes are better than a fire if it's pre 30 and you have 3 kills they may try to defend and you get pheonix. It's just to situational for rules like that

    Another tip is that you can tell when the enemy team is attacking the Fire Giant or Gold Fury if the game's ambience sounds start glitching, like turning on and off rapidly. So, if you have no wards. the enemy team is suspiciously missing, RUN towards either of those as soon as the sounds start glitching and hope you made it in time

    Personally I disagree with not waiting for gold. As long as you're not waiting for a T1 or T2 item, and are waiting for the full item, I think it's fine. Only time I'd say it isn't is if you need to be somewhere quickly or if you're behind and can't risk losing farm.

    The biggest thing I would’ve said is when coming up to those big late game 1v1s or really just any 1v1 make sure you’ve played every god enough to know CDs or atleast each gods most dangerous move. Like w nieth you dodge her spirit arrow and you’re pretty much not dying for 5-7 seconds

      In the context of the toxic competitives, fuck Conquest. I've only played it once and fucked off because of that. Yet, they're still there in Arena (the only gamemode I play in Smite for the most part) and Joust. Just recently, I played a Joust game as Fenrir with a team consisting of Surtr and Ah Puch and the former first basically said that Bakasura was the worst choice of a god out of all gods, but after swapping to Fenrir, he said to play whoever you want to as I'll feed the team kills anyway as it always happens all the same. Either you want my help OR YOU DON'T! To go down fighting or to surrender, to fight or not to fight, help or not to help, THAT'S THE REAL QUESTION! Come get me when Smite becomes an ESports only game as in "removed from Steam and available to ESports players" ESports only. Video games exist so we can have fun, not to win or complain over whoever sucks at playing the game. Just play the game!

    • @LemSmite

      @Opus Magnus awe don't let toxic people scare you away from conquest, it's so much fun :D

  • @JACKWEASEL
    @JACKWEASEL ปีที่แล้ว +3

    So I made masters last season, and I love this video because I was already doing a lot of these tips. But the last few tip I still struggle with. In some games I will wait for that last little bit of gold and it feels really bad especially considering the map is much bigger. And not tilting is the best and hardest tip on this list. But this guy is right focus on YOUR OWN GAMEPLAY! If you are spending all game on your teammates they will not improve and you won’t play as good as you could. My addition to this tip is if you have a teammate who is not playing well start looking for ways to influence that side of the map by either ganking or warding and then try to get your other teammates on board with helping whoever is not playing well. If you are a jungler this will actually help you learn to change where and how you path. Example if the enemy adc keeps soloing your adc buy a sentry ward it high, they will probably see you this time if so let them see you back then gank from your sentry wards position. If the enemy adc is winning lane they probably have a bounty and you will get some shut down gold along with pressure on GF side of the map. When you get pick call an objective and either get it or bait a fight around it that favors your teams number advantage. Great video!

    It's going to improve our own gameplay, but to me I'm hardstuck in low gold/high sylver since I'm always getting idiots in my team.. who doesn't know what they have to do, who doesn't ward at all and then complain about being ganked or worst the guy who start trolling when nobody agrees with him..

    adding to map awareness ensure to ward high traffic jungle paths and objectives. if you are the only one warding try to prioritize warding fire giant.
    having ward chalice also allows you to ward the jungle around the team fight as it is beginning. this will help prevent the jungler from sneaking around and help you catch someone waiting for cooldowns
    if there is someone on the enemy team getting ahead and they have a global ult it is a good idea to not push up your lane (even if you are winning lane) if you start to body a lane you become a target
    this mostly boils down to AWARENESS which if you're new you will develop in time

    I've been playing for 4 days so far and I absolutely love this game! besides the map tip there was nothing I already didn't know, I feel like my progress has come to a standstill because I can't play ranked yet so I have no clue if I'm getting better or worse anymore, I've mastered the map almost completely, I get 10-2-20 or something like that most games depending on my role if I'm assasin ill get near 30 or 40 kill games, I like playing for fun but I like to see improvement but some matches I literally can't do anything because someone has a wacky gimmick build that just works until you realize they're doing something like abusing the absolute shit out of heals or shield but then its too late because my team got wiped and we need a minute to respawn

    Quick tip for toxic team members. Sometimes you get someone who's toxic and you want to mute them but you still feel like you need to hear their calls. Well there is a little trick you can do. Just tell them you're gonna mute them. And ignore them for a bit. Most people stop talking shit because they think you don't hear them. And if they're still talking while they think they're muted you're obviously dealing with a crazy person so don't even worry about it

    One more thing I would've recommended is to not be quick to give up or F6. I see soooooo many players putting up a surrender vote at 10 minutes just because either 1. they're getting farmed by their enemy laner, or 2. the team isn't at a substantial lead, or 3. lost an early game team fight, even though the team is still in the lead
    The reason people don't get better is also because they're not willing to play through with the game even if they're losing. A lot of people don't know how to end the game because of this, because they never get to late game due to F6-ing all the time before late game. Hence, they never learn from their mistakes, and are stuck in probably silver or gold at best

    • @LemSmite
      @LemSmite  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good advice. I've won so many games that the enemy had a massive lead because they get overconfident and throw.

    • @AndrewH1994
      @AndrewH1994 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      just learning when and when not to f6 in general is good. sometimes F6ing a game when you're down that's potentially winnable is still good, because you save your mental and can continue. I've had several games where we win, but I'm tilted and have to stop. but if we had F6'd I would have been fine taking the L and moving on to the next one. Just to make it clear, I'm not the one purposing to F6 just because I got ganked 1 time in early and a mistake was made by me or someone else. only if we are actually actively losing, and there's little counter play happening by anyone on the team.

    • @FuzenHua
      @FuzenHua ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AndrewH1994 It's true that it's ok to F6 when nothing is going anywhere and the whole team isn't having fun. I just don't think in many cases it's worth to make a habit out of "oh we're losing let's just F6", especially when that's most people's mentality

    quick casting and instant casting are better for some abilities and worse for others. It's all up to personal preference but I think that mixing it up is better. Some abilities like change's 2 or he bo's 1 are instant cast while ullr's kit is default cast to help aim better with it.

    If two people call something different, always go with the majority of your teammates.
    Even if you know for a fact a play you call is better, it is better to make a wrong play as a team than to split up and make 2 different plays.

    I +++ your 1st tip but I like the map being somewhere between default and yours position.
    80% of Arena/Joust players never look at the map during the match and I wish it would change.
    2nd tip does not apply to all gods so it is better to keep the default option and change casting in "K" screen
    10th tip connected to another one: The moment you start feeling tilted - stop playing Smite at least for a couple hours or better till the next day. Trust me, you'll avoid a big losing streak every time

    Two more tips that I think you could’ve mentioned regarding ults, 1. don’t be afraid to ult, too many times I see new players holding onto ults because they’re waiting for the perfect opportunity that never comes. 2. You don’t always have to level your ultimate past level 1, if your ult is on a long cool down and you’ll level up before the timer runs out your missing out on extra benefits from your other abilities

      when you pull up the tab screen, instead of looking at your kda look at all the other information available to you. What build everyones going, gold difference between your allies and the enemies, relic timers on your team, how many wards the enemy team is buying, etc

    was going to send this to a friend to help them improve but this video has like 3 actual tip for GAMEPLAY to get better, the rest are just preferences and common sense...
    Don't flame your teammates.... ok? you should do this in any game
    move your map so it blocks the entire right side of your vision.... or just learn the game with the map in its normal position
    change your casting settings... again, no this doesnt improve anything.
    turn your sound up.......... ok, also make sure to turn on your monitor on so you can visually see the enemy, it will help hitting things!
    None of these will help you get better at the game.

    Need a setting to filter vgs. Like only one vgs command goes through looking at those spamming the same one over and over again, as well as filtering out the ones most commonly used to harass people. But that probably will never be a thing.. 🤷‍♂️

    Another big big big tip I would throw out to players is try your best not to panic. Like if you're roaming the jungle and bump into three people or get ganked try and just take a spit second to see what you can actually do to survive I have had so many games with friends where I verbally say I am coming to help and they don't even attempt to bring people closer to me for a kill and then after they say I didn't know what to do with that many there if you stay calm and use your map and listen to vgs you can always know if when and where help is coming from and you might make it out alive if you can just be calmer and not panic

    Holy crap #5 hits every player so hard. I would love to see a game mode where all of the stats are completely hidden and never revealed. Like even post game you can’t see how much damage you had. So sick of hearing “oh I’ve got top damage.” Well cool dude did you know the losing team of a $1,000,000 game still has a dude with top damage? It doesn’t mean a single thing if you lose the game with top damage. I feel like there would be so many more games won if a tsuki wouldn’t just ult all 5 by himself because someone else on the team took top damage from him. I literally watched that happen once. I took top damage and our jng ulted all 5 people by phoenix just so he could have top damage back. We lost the game off that play too. It’s not all that guys fault but he 100% cared more about losing with top damage over winning a game without the top stat. 🤦🏽‍♂️ small dick energy. Lol

    what is tilting?

    • @LemSmite
      @LemSmite  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think my connotation of tilting is when you let your emotions negatively influence your gameplay. So for example, if you're on a loss streak and notice yourself playing worse than you normally would, I would say that is a result of tilt. I believe the term came from poker and is now applied to video games :D
