- US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin met with his counterparts from Australia, Japan and the Philippines on May 3. The meet comes as the US deepens ties with an emerging regional group that Pentagon officials have privately nicknamed, the “Squad.” According to a US official quoted in a Bloomberg report, the “Squad” aims to counter coercion and aggression across Asia. It will also ensure that defence capabilities among their militaries are increasingly inter-operable, allowing them to work more efficiently together. Watch the video to find out more.

The Philippines need to develop its own military capability by manufacturing its own armament.

Correct, but the US itself can never allow that, if they sense that we grew stronger, they will fund the enemies of the government to weaken our government. The objective is, to remain the Philippines weak and dependent on them. Strong countries are hard to manipulate. Look at what they had done to Marcos Sr., they ousted him because FEM, planned to develop our own armaments manufacturing.
We can only build tricycles and jeepneys. We don’t manufacture nothing anymore, I used to see a lot of stuff in the 90’s everywhere but not anymore mostly Vietnamese.
