Nice breakdowns
Subbing
Scary part is the lions o-line under performed
I was really impressed with Sam LaPorta’s run blocking. Usually rookie TE’s struggle with run blocking but Sam was sticking with his blocks
And TE TJ Hock refuses to block for his teammates.
That's why he was the NFL's 41st best TE last season.
for reals bruh… i wasn’t sure about this pick but now i see why. This dude is what Hock couldn’t do or refused to do.
And made all his catches. Looking fluent in movement. He's already better than Hock if we're being honest
@@anonymousincognito7831 What pisses me off about the Hockenson pick was all the scouts including some fans here were saying Hock was a great blocker and loved doing it. But everything i saw said different.
He was Iowa's ENTIRE offense last year. Not even an exaggeration. Already a great product because Iowa's unquestionably TE U, but heightened by need in a way that others haven't been. Had to do it all, and it shows.
Imagine how awesome Sewell and Decker can be if they get to play like KC OT's get to get away with playing? Yeah, I'm salty as hell that BS was allowed to happen. ALLOWED TO HAPPEN!
Decker likes to start a little early sometimes too
Im glad you highlighted Montgomerys block at around 9 mins in this video. I didnt notice that myself and im pretty good at watching football ive had enough practice. Great highlighted play by you. Subbing!
Yes. Great stuff. That kind of recognition is game changing. An incomplete pass I far better than a free shot at Goff.
I was so happy for Big V. Also happy for the team that he performed so well. That RG spot was really scaring me during the offseason.
Run it more big lion's advantage offensive line in run game
I said same.
Facts. I though this was one of Ben's weakest game plans.
@@Lionize728I agree but also spags is one of the best defensive coordinators but I was still left wanting more
noooo way,,,,, not when you have a rookie out there they played it safe..... and came out with the w
@@stevep-he8ct running it is playing safe. The Lions offensive line can dominate in the running game. Rookie's are not an issue when it comes to running backs. They are ready to go
8:50. I noticed this play during the game and was confused why Goff flashed the PA to the left when no one was there. Thanks for pointing out DMO left the route to pick up the blitz. Makes sense now.
it has been one game so far -but respectfully does anyone miss Swift or Jamaal Williams now ? These guys are just better players - no dis on the old ones but these guys have skills way beyond what we have seen - between this line and these backs - lions are going to hold and keep leads - how many years have the lions snatched losses from the jaws of victory - love this team
@@pjpredhomme7699 Well….i miss their salaries to be honest. We are coming out of pocket big for the upgrade. But I’m pleased so far.
Gibbs & Montgomery both 1k rushing yards! Lets get it!!!
Gibbs is amazing.
Gibbs 1k rushing and 1k receving bc why tf not.
@@aetetreau If I was Dan Campbell I would make Gibbs a work horse! That guy is incredible! Every time he got the ball was like WHOA! Smash mouth it with Montgomery because you got the O Line. Give me a break, come on! Aidan Hutchinson! The best pass rusher! Guy is a machine! They could really dominate!
I’m a Bills fan but I’m loving The Lions!
Lions oline is so underrated
Not Really No Secret that they a TOP 3 Unit.
@@DetroitMadetop 2
Lions get basically hyped for their elite O-Line. If you think they are underrated, you don´t follow football.
@@AtmRacks-wy3djI agree Philly an Detroit oline top 2
@@jaybrick8973 facts think falcons or niners third
Man seeing it from this angle you can see how creative our offense is! With some new guys in the lineup you can see a few things need to be ironed out as we are still coming together as a team but we have some pretty high football iq guys. By week 4 I think we’ll start to look like ourselves and putting up big numbers! #87 is going to be huge for us all year he’s a complete tight end and he looks very intimidating in pads! I pray for a healthy season and see what we can do going forward! Great video again!
Laporta already laying down some better blocks in one game than I ever saw Hockenson make in his whole career here.
"Lions got rid of their best offensive weapon" really tho?
He’s the real deal, no question. Nothing against Hock, but by mid season at latest, big Sam will be the better player easy.
gotta love when people show love to the guys in the trenches, it's not talked about enough in the mainstream.
Imo lions got best oline and safeties unit in nfl and best special teams unit
Our d-line is better than last year. Without cheating Hutchinson would have 4-5 sacks easy
Love the lions content!
That block by Montgomery is really smart and it lets the QB know what’s poppin on his backside!
I'm just so excited first season with all five starters playing and playing healthy.
They can say whatever they want. But the Chiefs had 7:04 left to score, and couldn’t. Their defensive front was spent those last 10 minutes. They got gassed out from all the blitzing. When they needed a 3rd down stop on an obvious running play to get the ball back one final time they got bowled over.
Penei is other worldly ...Lions fans are sooooo fortunate to have this guy. Their entire o line is elite ,that 73 is sumn else too nah! He gets out in space like an astronaut as well.
Now you know why they are called “Hanks Tanks”
Lions run game was slowed by Chiefs heavy boxes all day long. Still put up 120 yds. A few deep passes would have helped this. BJ didn't have his best game as a play caller. Lions played a B- game and still won.
I think the lack of an x and Kansas City having pretty good corners prevented this. We really need Jamo back or get Antoine green some verticals. Or trade. Whatever. They need someone that can stretch the field these next 5 weeks or teams are just going to stack the box.
@njm203 I don't think you need a designed player for this. Just throw deep even if its incomplete now the defense knows you'll do it. Jones isn't fast but he's good in contested catches. Raymond has pretty good speed. Either of them would make adequate deep ball threats thought no where near what Jamo will be.
Bro is doing cartwheels on it
Laporta is doing a great job at blocking. I love thèse traditional TE able to play as à 6th linemen.
Yah I mean several plays where he looked like a pro in his first NFL game. I am Laporta fan at this point!
Gay was missing his assignment on every snap. No wonder the chiefs didnt' retain him
They should have a great year. Rush the ball a lot and dominate.
Nice video I'm a rams fan and now. I know why they went after Jackson in free agency. The rams are gonna have a much better line this year. I think it's gonna be a really good game to open the season. I was rooting for the lions to beat the winers but at least the chiefs took care of them. Hopefully we'll see the lions in the NFC championship game.👍
F the winers.
Lions O-line could blast a tunnel through a mountain. DMo and Gibbs are gonna be gashing defenses up the middle.
They avg 3.5 yards per carry and the Chiefs were missing two starting DL. They scored 14 points against a team that was missing a total of 50M in cap space in the game. Weird that you are saying they are underrated?
Can a line that is widely considered top 3 be underrated?
That personal foul on Penei was DOGSHIT and I’m still mad about it
Might have had a different outcome for the game had Chris Jones played.
Guess we’ll never know
@@DirtyDLions685 nope, of course I wanted the Lions to win though
Ragnow, Big V and Jackson would have neutralized Jones. Our O line is elite both individually, and as a unit. They probably had a defensive plan to limit Kelcy also.
@louisrondone1332 Guess we'll never know 😉. Every team has a plan to limit Kelcy because he's a big threat 🤣 Do you know the last time the Lions won a playoff game?
Yes I do. Know the Lions history going back many decades. Do you know who Joe Schmidt and Night Train Lane are wise ass. It’s a new day, wake up and drink the blue koolaid🦁
They didnt play to their abilities and yet at the end of the game they were leaning on KCs DL. No quit in this team
They scored 14 points to calm down, and no Chris Jones hahahahaha sssshhhhhhhhh
@7:15 Marvin Jones missed a block on the DB, he sucked so much worse then i thought.
Release him bring up cota
@AtmRacks-wy3dj I wouldn't release him, But if he's like this consistently over the next few weeks, Then yeah sure.
Rt, I predicted this. He made his name with stafford so I can't really see him turning it up for gf m goff
he dropped two passes and fumbled too, kinda worrying.
These boys fawk
Elite🤣🤣🤣
I think they were ranked 3rd last year and that was with losing Hal Vaitai and Jackson all season. Big V I believe was the highest graded player of the game. So yeah, they have at least two prowlers on the line and it should be about 4 and possibly all 5 will make pro bowl this year. So…..elite.
Or chiefs misses Jones and Clark
I'm love the lions they will b n the playoffs this but if Chris Jones was there it would be different
Salty Chiefs fans here. Looks like Mahomes is overrated. I mean, you lose one guy and can’t get 260 in the air and complete 60%. Yikes
He was rushing passes and missing targets(even slightly) because Hutch was on his ass all night. He's still the best QB in the league, but Hutch is one of the best pass rushers, and the perfect counter to his playstyle. That won't happen every game.
I hope the refs get fired and banned
U simply cant win every down. You're playing against professional football players and they r prideful of their skills and game plan. Its who wins the most downs who r usually the Victor's
The Lions scored 14 points against the Chiefs’ D that was without Chris Jones. Settle down.
The Chiefs still lost, eat it
On top of that.. they were one of the top units last year and a top 5 offense casual
They won in KC, while playing against the Chiefs and their refs. Piss up a rope, clown🤡
lol they just stack the box 99% of the time. watch Lawrence drop an absolute bomb next week.
Chris Jones didnt want to ruin his contract potential by getting bullied by our o line.
Jesus, it's one frigging game and the Chiefs were without their #1 pass rusher.
If teams missing guys due to Injuries, Suspensions, and hold outs, can't be analyzed then I guess ESPN and every other sports outlet is going to have to start covering bird watching or wood working.
Lions O-line was dominant all last year too. So it's a lot more than 1 game.
Sounds to me like their #1 guy pussed out🤷♂️
And they gettin their ass smoked by the Jags. Watch and learn😹
@@jokerj641 um, this was week 1 of this year. Not last year.
No Chris Jones makes a big difference in this game tho
No excuse for their D-Line tho. They chose not to pay him so it was self inflicted. You play who's on the field. Also didn't hear people "tho"ing for us last season when we didn't have Big V the whole year or the season before when we were without Decker or the 14 games Ragnow (arguably the NFL's best center) missed.
@@Lionize728 lol calm down, go Niners
Not enough to win
Still wouldn't matter much because Detroit oline is elite
@@jaybrick8973 how can you say that? They won by one point
Who cares about the Lions OL, if the coaches do stupid shit and go for it on fourth down. KC should have won...
but they didnt and the lions outsmarted them and won lol
Stay Mad lol😂
@@Codemandragon21 It could have easily gone the other way....
@danielmoody3640 but it didn't hearsay is hearsay lol lions won get over it
Shoulda coulda woulda. There should’ve been 10 penalties on the chiefs pussy ass oline but didn’t matter
No chris jones and no Travis kelce, if those two were on the field the lions would’ve been playing from behind the whole time and the chiefs would’ve probably won. But that’s a great first win for the lions I’m proud of you guys, now let’s hope my jets can do the same thing.
No Jameson no Mosley for Detroit Excuses are lame. If 2 guys make or break a team it's not very good
NFL is a "next man up" league. If a team doesn't have another player to replace someone, they deserve to lose. Making excuses is pointless.
@@adamioppolo1884 So you're saying that jameson and mosely are as big of a loss for detriot as kelce and jones are for kansas city? Ok give mommy her phone back.
@@brysonbailey6613 I just want to know if you guys feel like you would've beaten kansas city if they had those guys, you won by one point after all.
@@zedoggie3006stop fucking crying and give the lions their credit... they defeated the defending Super Bowl champs people still doubted them with Jones and Kelce being out
