A great deconstruction, although the title of the song is actually Stickerbush Symphony. This is a common mistake, but I'll just let you know regardless edit: i know this sounds pedantic as hell, im leaving it up just for the comments
So glad to see this masterpiece deconstructed. Those first three layers almost sound like a classic mellotron (think The Beatles STRAWBERRY FIELDS). Thanks for the upload.
That chord progression and bass is what really sells this song. It makes gives it a lot of heavy impacting melochonic vibes and key changes that a lot of romantic post metalcore songs have.
If I'm like 20 hours late, why is this under 1K views, and why do you not have more subs for this content? Anyway, love this song, and I love the remix they made for the Smash series.
It's crazy how ethereal this track is where all the sounds are organic and heavenly sounding but then DSP2 kicks in as the only sound that's obviously synth sounding but is like the glue to the track and just meshes so well. It's also why I prefer covers that include that sound over ones that don't and my only gripe about the SSB version.
“Let’s all work together and do our part! We might sound a bit off now, but when we work together, it’s gonna sound great! Trust me!” -- And then that sweet sweet payoff…
[You look at the waves on screen as they play, you start to feel weird at first but then you feel more healthy and invigorated than ever before! You have been truly blessed by sound] {whatever the fric that means} (HP & MP restored!) (Save?) >[YES]< [NO] Saving... Saved! Loading...
It's missing because the sound is deliberately played out of phase, to sound like it's behind you, but that has the downside of messing with the sound waves so they don't appear in the software I use
I figured out my issue with the bass echo. I'm listening on my phone and it only has one speaker. I listened to it later in stereo and the echo is present.
4:33 at the last note of each phrase, DSP 2 doesn't look like it's playing anything, but I can definitely hear a note there, just wider. Are we seeing the L+R result? If so, maybe both the left and right channels perfectly cancel out if played in mono for that note each phrase.
That is actually very true. When I tried listening in mono audio(not through the SNES hardware), the L+R effect cancelled out, which at first was odd to me, but now that you mention it, I’m very surprised.
this does NOT sound like a SNES song, or a song for a Donkey Kong game even! You could tell me that this was a Windows demo soundtrack for an obscure older version and I'd probably believe you!
Wikipedia says SNES has 8 sound channels. This song uses 8 channels so how'd they do the sound effects that I know were in the levels that used this music track? Is there a 0 channel or something?
@@ssabmud6990 Is it one that's staggered with an identical track to produce an echo effect? Maybe that wouldn't be as noticeable as cutting other tracks.
I've been lying in bed listening to this with my eyes closed and when it kicks in at 5:20 I legitimately almost started crying.
4:32 This is literally why I love this song
Same, it's such a satisfying sound and gives such a great depth to the whole piece
I love it every time the bass goes "DO-do-DO-do"
4:32 I love this
Unironically the best bass line I've heard
me too
0:01 🎵"Theee Simmpsoooonsss" 🎶
DSP 2 is the most iconic bass synth in VGM history.
I just want give david wise a hug and tell him these themes were a big part of my childhood. Fucking crying rn man.
Man DSP 2 is putting in some major work in the feels department
Im fascinated by how many beats were used to compose this 16-bits masterpiece. Its really magic
4:32 best part

No one cares
Well I thought it was interesting
Probably because the name Stickerbrush Symphony rolls off the tongue better than Stickerbush Symphony.
@@art4truth I’d say they’re roughly equal but maybe that’s just me
Yh
wow dsp 2 and dsp4 together soloed sound menacing af yet the whole context of the song is so laid back and chill, amazing song.
it works because it results in dissonance and makes it sound sad :3
These are some 90s drums and i think its absolutely perfect

Is this heaven?
8:25 EVERYBODY NOW!!
This sounds like the type of music a detective from the future would listen to while smoking a cigarette in the rain beside an alley.
strangely specific
I've been addicted to these videos lately. Hearing the song assemble itself lets me enjoy every piece of it.
You have no idea of how much I've been waiting for you to upload this, thank you so so so so much
Carpathia finally did it... the true and only Stickerbrush Symphony
Stickerbush
I couldn't imagine this game without this song
DOING THE LORD'S WORK HERE
A beautiful song. Could've worked as a Settings theme for the SNES too, lol

I come back to this video so often
This song literally feels etherial.
Ethereal*
And yes, you’re right.
@@Dayserking minor spelling mistake
Ooo that's a good word, gonna be using it from now on
Ethereal is a word I didn’t expect but now needed in my entire life.
Meant to be the underwater equivalent of DKC 1 's aquatic ambience, but not in water as that was already covered enough. Something like that.
Beautiful 😭
3:35, this part always reminds me of The Cure for some reason.
Thats nice to see a the cure fan at least
Ok I see you back at it again bro keep it up
Congrats!!! 👏👏👏

this just feels good piece by piece
this is awesome and im glad you made it
this. i love this.
Y'boy be pumping these out and quick! We appreciate it!
So much love here!
Seeing how complex the synth lineup actually is, is crazy to me bruh
...This one is gonna blow up. I'm honored to be here with only 388 views. *Checkpoint.*
Omg! Thank you!!!!
Am I tripping or is the bass echo missing?

Had to watch the ads before listening to the whole thing
Shivers at 5:20
All I did during this was observe my emotions... Damn.
4:12I remember pausing the game sometimes because it would mess with the music frequency trying to hear this sound clearly. what instrument is that?
Jeremy Knight kinda just sounds like a cheap theremin to me, or like a weirdly contorted violin sound?

There should be a DKC Trilogy Collection with all 3 games in 1
Wikipedia says SNES has 8 sound channels. This song uses 8 channels so how'd they do the sound effects that I know were in the levels that used this music track? Is there a 0 channel or something?
They just cut out the music in one sound channel to play the sound effect. You can hear this occasionally if you listen real close
@@ssabmud6990 Is it one that's staggered with an identical track to produce an echo effect? Maybe that wouldn't be as noticeable as cutting other tracks.
@@art4truth I think so, yes
Is beautifull
Vaya vaya no crei que una música de David Wise podría sacarme una lágrima😢.
You gotta do haunted chase my boy
DSP3 hermoso
Just a small fun fact to ruin your day: description still uses the wrong title :)
5:20 does it for me
Can you do blue spheres from sonic 3
Wish granted!
What's the name of the pulsing sound at 3:15?(DSP 2)
It’s a sawtooth with a low-pass filter.
There’s 11 distinct samples of different levels of low-pass.
So how do the bass and other instruments get that filtering envelope sound???
It's multiple samples of a saw wave with varying cutoffs and resonance, resequenced.
Is there a way for me to extract certain sounds to sample and make beats
4:13
I hate how the thumbnail says stickerbrush and the title says stickerbush
Oh so thats the song from that one japanese video where people put theyre traumas in the comments. Cool to see how it was constructed
The only problem is that Microsoft has Rare
