    I was genuinely surprised at how well the SNES managed to do all that FM synth-style instruments on its sample-based system. Thank you David Wise, Robin Beanland, and Eveline Fischer!

    I tried to do a General MIDI version of this music, sounds ok, but never with this sound quality (it's general MIDI after all)
    Great work!

    O wow. After listening to this and watching the wave forms. The midi's doesn't do this track justace(sorry sequencers. I do love your attempts at this but just now realized there are some parts that went unnoticed and no its not your guys fault as we never had a chance to break the track down like this)
    Once I'm done moving in and finishing some projects I will get started on this track!!

    I have always wondered which synth or module this sound (0:36) came from? Like, is it General MIDI? Or perhaps a sound canvas module? If anyone knows please let me know!

    • @Rainy-yp6je
      @Rainy-yp6je 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      LOL, GM wasn't used nor a sound canvas. It's mostly KORG Instruments (and not the Damn KORG M1)

    • @Fvandermolen
      @Fvandermolen 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I know. Korg Wavestation it was and also Roland Alpha Juno 2, I have the synth. Just curious if it would be something more.

      Both were recorded around the same time probably. Wouldn't be surprised if there was some sort of six degrees of separation betwen David wise and MJ

      Listen to the bassline of 'New Junk City' from Earthworm Jim and then Higher Ground by RHCP. It's one of the most overlooked 'inspirations' in Video Gaming.

    If you dont mind me asking, how do you get each instrument of a certain song separately

    • @CravensBen
      @CravensBen 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      You can isolate them out with special hardware because of the way the SNES handles audio! You really have to know your way around computer chips, though. Definitely above my pay grade, but there are some really great TH-cam videos explaining it!
