- Woodwork on a metal mini lathe.
a simple project to restore some old needle files and make some nice handles for them.
This is my first project with the Mini-Lathe, I'm using the C3 wood tool rest which isn't made for my 8x16 lathe, but for a smaller 7x12 mini lathe, but it still works fine.
watch as I sharpen some old files and make handles on the mini lathe for them.

Great restauration of handles - it’s better keeping old good quality alive than always buying new low-china quality stuff. What we see here is really substantial idea and protecting our nature and also protecting our always limited budget 😀👍I will do it similar…
Getting old stuff working again feels a bit like cheating 🙃 I really don't like throwing stuff out!
Hi Simon
If you reverse file there's still life in them
You did a good job of recycling
All the very best

Ah, thanks for the tip 😀
The handles look great Simon
Thanks :-) 😀
They look good - I use a file cleaning brush ( about £5.50 from tool station )
Good tip!, I didn't know there was such a thing, thanks! 😀
@@DIYTinkerer its like a flat short wire brush :)
Hi Simon, the handles look great, I was thinking of doing something similar.
Loved watching the lathe work.
@@eynshamyman3403 thanks 😊
