I honestly can't decide where the real insecurity lies when it comes to degrees of possessiveness. Some men would get mad at the mere thought of another guy looking at his gf/wife. But that's a form of insecurity in itself. They are so insecure about their partner running off with the next guy that looks at her that they must claim ultimate possession of her. If there is any doubt of the woman's loyalty in a monogamous relationship, that is down to judgement of character and the communication that fuels it. Sometimes what we see as insecurity is actually closer to the opposite. Sometimes what we see as a healthy, exclusive relationship is built on nothing but insecurity, paranoia and the toxic possessiveness of another individual. If you are an insecure person, nothing will reassure you of your partner's loyalty.

I disagree and I think you're forcing a narrative, which is dangerous.. it's true that there's insecurities in some cases but there are also case where it doesn't happen. That is true, I've had enough after 5 failed relationships which seemed to have no future in sight due to my partner's lack of honesty and jealousy.
