There are 2 ways to test a coil one way was what you did the other is by grounding the volts ohm meter ground to ground then the positive to the center lug where the wire goes to test the secondary wires inside because you have primary and scondary wires inside the coil . Condensers can be tested by putting a charge to it so use a 6 volt battery or charger to then ground the ground to the case of it then put 6 volts to the wire for a few seconds then use your volt meter and ground the ground to the case and touch the power or red + of the volt meter to the wire and you should see a slow voltage drop on the meter until it goes to zero or dead if it does nothing or drops instantly the condenser is bad . Look for Hemming's motor news magazine because they have all kinds of companies and vendors who sell parts for old cars and trucks . One place that might have a carburetor kit if you haven't found one would be in this magazine or a place called Kantor auto parts possibly because we used to order parts from them for all the old Packard limousines I used to work on at a shop years ago called Classic auto and Kantor had all kinds of parts including rebuild kits to rebuild or refresh engines carburetors gasket kits etc. If you like this kind of thing I recommend a TH-cam video channel called Mortskies repair who goes out and buys old cars trucks that have been sitting for 20 30 40 years and he tries to get them running and driving along with his dog Duff who often goes for rides with him when he gets them running and driving again ! He's had a few videos with flat head engines with stuck valves and shows some of his techniques to getting them unstuck and moving again with some results that gets the engine running and some not because of stuck rings or valves that are burned or should be lapped in again provided the margin on the valve is enough to do this . Keep up the good work on getting this old Dodge running again and I will look for more videos of this !
169th subscriber, nice work. If you haven’t pulled the head off yet, you might be able to mix atf 50/50 with acetone and dump in there with a pice of brake line that’s bent you should be able to get some dumped over the valves. We have this same truck it was running like a top when I was a kid
You are very lucky you found a real good find / Good luck with it young man / GOD gave you a desire of your heart . Enjoy
Set of points ,condenser , clean and set float , bet that it would bump start ! I can only hope you know what kind of jewel you got there ?!
