My experience with DJI and their use of mobile apps, which after a few years are not updated or stop working on new smartphone models, is not (in my opinion) the right way to sell a 1000€ product. On the other hand, Zhiyun's solution and its MasterEye Visual Controller seems to me the best way to have a product ready for audiovisual production in a package. The only 'downside' I can put to the Weebill 2 are its non-replaceable batteries. Sooner or later the batteries fail. The truth is that this is the weak point of this gimbal, which I hope the technical service can overcome when that situation arrives.

But all things considered, do you really think there will not be something better you’ll buy in 2 or 4 years? I think so. The main downside is that you can’t replace them mid shoot. But you can charge them while you use it. So that’s always an option.

@@agentjtravel_walkthru4205 You mean the monitor of your camera goes dark? That's usually when you have setup the output of the camer to include the menues (or you are in photo mode). When you setup the HDMI port to output the "clean video" you should get the menues & video in camera + the clean video on the Weebill monitor.

And also which port you use on the Weebill matters. And ofcourse, the video connection only works when you also have the Transmission module.

Hello, thank you for the installation wizard, I am thinking of using this gimbal with Canon EOS R6 Mark 2 and EF 16.35 F4 lens, there is an 'EF converter' in between. What I'm wondering and not sure about is whether the length of the converter hits any motors when using different modes. I'm worried that the camera will hit the gimbal or work at full limits.
I find that with the 15-35mm f/2.8 lens (huge and heavy) the whole gimbal struggles a bit and only works when I use the front weight backed on the lens. Otherwise, stuff is vibrating like crazy. This may work with your setup as well.

I don't have one, but surely there are ones. I personally found that it did not really work all that well. But it may be different now (possibly firmware updates).

If I use external recorder like ninja V to directly to camera, can I get the reference video from ninja V’s hdmi output and control the gimbal in same time? 1 cable for gimbal, 1 cable for camera and hdmi for ninja V.
I checked the manual (linked below). On page 290, you find the setting to choose between the Clean 4k/HD output or if you want the output with info. But upon reading this info it seems (though I can't test this) that maybe in those modes the camera can not record to card? Not sure. I will try another camera ... maybe I have the live picture on gimbal and camera. (Which camera do you use? I think EOS R, the live image works on gimbal and camera?)
You'll need to use the appropriate cable. The instructions are probably on the Zhiyun Tech website. They provide a bunch of cables and there should be one USB-C to USB-C to fit with the A7IV.
Yes, when using the TransMount AI you do have the ability to see the video on your smartphone (and control the gimbal/camera settings from there as well to a certain extend).

Hi Chris! .. i use this gimbal with the sony a7iii. When i connecting the cable between the gimbal and the camera (without a transmitter) allows me to focus and record from the gimbal's record button. But when I connect it to the transmitter, with everything connected, it no longer allows me to continue using that button from the gimbal to start recording. In general does that happen? or is it just me? (sorry my english, is not very well yet but i try haha)
Hi Gaby, for me it works with the Transmitter and also without the Transmitter in between. It is very important that you use the correct cable between the Transmitter and the Gimbal (and also the right USB-C port on the Gimbal to connect the Transmitter). So maybe check those and make sure you use the cable with the Yellow Tab to connect between the Transmitter and Gimbal. Then it should work for you too.
In Photo mode that is the default behaviour and there is no way around. In Video mode, you get to choose. However only between: Clean HDMI Out (in this case the Gimbal monitor shows the picture without any of the settings overlay, but when you go into the menu it will show the menu on the external screen) - and in the other mode you only see everything on the external monitor. So best would be to go into the "HDMI Output" (or something like that) menu point and see what you can switch around there.
hello, I bought the weebill 2 and when I turned it on for the first time I turned on the stabilizer but the screen stayed off, I got very stressed and what I did was update it and now I turn on the computer and it lasts only seconds and then it turns off. I actually never really used that and just left it in the box since I am using the Peak Design Arca Swiss base plates. Maybe I could have specified this a bit better. Great video Chris! I’m about to purchase a Weebill 2 and my question is: Can I buy the Combo package and then separately buy the CMF-06 transmount servo follow focus/zoom controller for focus/zoom control without buying the video transmount? I use a Sony A7S3 with a 24-105mm zoom.
I think you may need to reach out to Zhiyun for this. I remember I asked them about a specific piece of gear and they would be able to provide this individually. But they may have to shop directly from China which can incur different kinds of costs. Alternatively, sometimes you find these things individually on sites like eBay and special online shops.
@@IzharAshdot It depends what you are looking to achieve. If it's just for zooming (via the wheel on the Zhiyun) then it would work. But not to control with the app I don't think that works. But I also have not tested this myself.
@@IzharAshdot With focus (depending on the camera) you may not need the motor if the focus can be done electronically (some lenses / cameras are supported right out of the box). With Zoom it's a bit different and you most likely would need the motor.
Question: I have the Canon R6. How to I set up image transmission? I have it connected to the camera and the iso, Aperature works but the display for image says image transmission device is not connected. Any help would be greatly appreciated - thanks!!
Do you have the Image Transmission module? The one I have put under the camera with the two antennas? If not, than that's most likely it. If you do have this module, then I would suggest checking the cables. There are specific cables to connect the Transmission Module with the Gimbal (and it is also important to use the USB-C port which is on the back of the Gimbal arm to the right of the camera when the camera is pointed away from you, this port has a little Transmission module next to it printed). If all that fails, let me know again and I will try to help you furhter.

So - you need the transmitter for image few but you don't for Setting adjustment? Last question (as I see you have a canon) - is there touch focus on pull out screen given the transmitter was hooked up correct and if so is it solid? For a lot of my video work I do touch focus on gimbal work via auto servo. Thanks so much!!
@@matthewotis4333 Hi, you are correct, without the transmission module the built in display does not show the cameras video feed but the controls do work via USB. In terms of touch focus: i have not found it to be `solid` but it does work if used and setup properly. I still find the cameras built in touch focus more accurate though (if it's only focus you worry about).

@@mahbodkh3542 I do not use a Sony camera, so I can't really help you here. I just know that there are some things that work with my Canon EOS R and others do not (focus with RF lenses works, but zoom for example does not because zoom is not electronic). With the record button: I think there is a function in the camera where you can tell it that pressing the shutter button starts a recording, maybe when you activate that it does trigger recording via the record button on the gimbal.
when I cut my weebill 2 on after like 5 sec it beeps really loud , the white lights turn red and then the whole things shuts off except for the blinking red light....and the only thing that shows on my screen of the weebill is just the logo?????????? can anyone help???
I have not had this happen. There are two thoughts: - The weight is not balanced and the motors are going crazy and shutting off. - Or there is something wrong with the weebill. Please try to balance the gimbal properly and see if that helps. If not, please reach out to Zhiyun Tech support.

A few ideas: - Is the transmitter turned on? - Is the transmitter connected with the correct cable? - Is the HDMI port connected to your camera? - Is your camera outputting an HDMI signal? Maybe any of these can get you up and running?
Thanks for your thorough video on the Weebil 2. So I've updated the firmware for both my Sony FX3 and the Weebil 2 (v1.84). I've tried connecting the camera to the gimbal many times to no avail. It keeps saying "check connected device" and I'm using the USB-C to USB-C cable. What's weird is that on the Weebil Lab and the Weebil 2s there is an option to choose which camera you'll be connecting to (Canon, Sony, Panasonic, etc) but on the Weebil 2 menu screen there is nothing that I can find of that sort. If you have a solution, that would be greatly appreciated because I would love to control my camera from the gimbal handle itself the way you have mentioned it here. Thank you in advance! Hi, I may not be the right person to chat with here. I do not own the FX3 and my Canon EOS R as well as a Sony a6400 I tested both worked more or less out of the box. The one thing I can think of is if you chose the right USB-C able. Apparently the Weebil 2 is pretty particular about which cable goes where. Like there is a special cable which can only be used for the connection between gimbal and transmission system and nothing else (and you also can not use a standard USB-C to C cable for said connection). Maybe the same is true for the USB-C connection? Have you used the original cables? Other point, did you choose the right USB-C port on the Weebill? There are two above each other and one on the opposite side which is for the camera. Hope any of this can help, if not, maybe the Zhiyun team can?
Did you ever get this to work? I'm hesitant to consider this gimbal as my Weebill S never connected correctly and then they stopped selling parts and updating the software prior to this model coming out. I have a basically useless transmount module that just stays in the box.
Anyone having a vibration issue on underslung mode? Ive auto calibrated and set my mode settings to high using sony fx3 with lens 24-70 Zeiss. However, at times it starts to vibrate I'm not sure what am I doing wrong :/. I even updated the gimbal.
I've had this happen a couple of times. Restarted and calibrated again. When this happens it feels really weird since it's pretty random and erratic. I hope this gets fixed someday in firmware.
@@ChrisSpiegl ohhh wow thank you for responding I think I was going crazy because I keep on doing those check marks recalibrating, checking the balance etc and its getting annoying. I was thinking of repurchasing a new one. However, that may end up with the same issue lol
@@aodvisions I would recommend trying to get a really good balance doing it manually and then using the "digital balancing" just to confirm if it's all ok. If you do this a couple times it's actually quite impressive how balanced you can get the camera.
@@aodvisions I am talking about the balancing check you can do on the display of the Weebill 2 Pro where you see one bar for each motor and how stressed they are.
Very confusing on how you actually placed the camera on the plate, especially when your camera recording is faced from the top, and you're using a completely different plate than the one provided in the actual kit.

plz guide me . when i attach transmeter to gimbal . i cant balance tilt axis on gimbal very well . finish the way for going upper the tilt axis.

Zhiyun Weebill 2- The camera (EOS RP) monitor switches off when connected to the Gimbalmonitor. Do you have a solution for me?

@@IzharAshdot It depends what you are looking to achieve. If it's just for zooming (via the wheel on the Zhiyun) then it would work. But not to control with the app I don't think that works. But I also have not tested this myself.
@@ChrisSpiegl exactly. I would like to control either zoom or focus with wheel. Not the app.
@@IzharAshdot With focus (depending on the camera) you may not need the motor if the focus can be done electronically (some lenses / cameras are supported right out of the box). With Zoom it's a bit different and you most likely would need the motor.
Question: I have the Canon R6. How to I set up image transmission? I have it connected to the camera and the iso, Aperature works but the display for image says image transmission device is not connected. Any help would be greatly appreciated - thanks!!
Do you have the Image Transmission module? The one I have put under the camera with the two antennas? If not, than that's most likely it.
If you do have this module, then I would suggest checking the cables. There are specific cables to connect the Transmission Module with the Gimbal (and it is also important to use the USB-C port which is on the back of the Gimbal arm to the right of the camera when the camera is pointed away from you, this port has a little Transmission module next to it printed).
If all that fails, let me know again and I will try to help you furhter.
@@ChrisSpiegl Extremely helpful all around my friend! I do not have the transmitter although I did watch you portion on that. So - you need the transmitter for image few but you don't for Setting adjustment? Last question (as I see you have a canon) - is there touch focus on pull out screen given the transmitter was hooked up correct and if so is it solid? For a lot of my video work I do touch focus on gimbal work via auto servo. Thanks so much!!
@@matthewotis4333 Hi, you are correct, without the transmission module the built in display does not show the cameras video feed but the controls do work via USB.
In terms of touch focus: i have not found it to be `solid` but it does work if used and setup properly.
I still find the cameras built in touch focus more accurate though (if it's only focus you worry about).

@@mahbodkh3542 I do not use a Sony camera, so I can't really help you here. I just know that there are some things that work with my Canon EOS R and others do not (focus with RF lenses works, but zoom for example does not because zoom is not electronic).
With the record button: I think there is a function in the camera where you can tell it that pressing the shutter button starts a recording, maybe when you activate that it does trigger recording via the record button on the gimbal.

when I cut my weebill 2 on after like 5 sec it beeps really loud , the white lights turn red and then the whole things shuts off except for the blinking red light....and the only thing that shows on my screen of the weebill is just the logo?????????? can anyone help???
I have not had this happen. There are two thoughts:
- The weight is not balanced and the motors are going crazy and shutting off.
- Or there is something wrong with the weebill.
Please try to balance the gimbal properly and see if that helps. If not, please reach out to Zhiyun Tech support.

when i swipe up it still says image transmitter not found but i have the transmitter, i have the d850.
A few ideas:
- Is the transmitter turned on?
- Is the transmitter connected with the correct cable?
- Is the HDMI port connected to your camera?
- Is your camera outputting an HDMI signal?
Maybe any of these can get you up and running?

Thanks for your thorough video on the Weebil 2. So I've updated the firmware for both my Sony FX3 and the Weebil 2 (v1.84). I've tried connecting the camera to the gimbal many times to no avail. It keeps saying "check connected device" and I'm using the USB-C to USB-C cable. What's weird is that on the Weebil Lab and the Weebil 2s there is an option to choose which camera you'll be connecting to (Canon, Sony, Panasonic, etc) but on the Weebil 2 menu screen there is nothing that I can find of that sort. If you have a solution, that would be greatly appreciated because I would love to control my camera from the gimbal handle itself the way you have mentioned it here. Thank you in advance! Hi, I may not be the right person to chat with here. I do not own the FX3 and my Canon EOS R as well as a Sony a6400 I tested both worked more or less out of the box. The one thing I can think of is if you chose the right USB-C able. Apparently the Weebil 2 is pretty particular about which cable goes where. Like there is a special cable which can only be used for the connection between gimbal and transmission system and nothing else (and you also can not use a standard USB-C to C cable for said connection). Maybe the same is true for the USB-C connection? Have you used the original cables?
Other point, did you choose the right USB-C port on the Weebill? There are two above each other and one on the opposite side which is for the camera.
Hope any of this can help, if not, maybe the Zhiyun team can?
Did you ever get this to work? I'm hesitant to consider this gimbal as my Weebill S never connected correctly and then they stopped selling parts and updating the software prior to this model coming out. I have a basically useless transmount module that just stays in the box.
Mine doesn't lock in place to balance. It's so frustrating. I feel so dumb
It does not lock in "all positions". The locking is only in dedicated spots. Maybe that's what was happening for you?
Anyone having a vibration issue on underslung mode? Ive auto calibrated and set my mode settings to high using sony fx3 with lens 24-70 Zeiss. However, at times it starts to vibrate I'm not sure what am I doing wrong :/. I even updated the gimbal.
I've had this happen a couple of times. Restarted and calibrated again. When this happens it feels really weird since it's pretty random and erratic. I hope this gets fixed someday in firmware.
@@ChrisSpiegl ohhh wow thank you for responding I think I was going crazy because I keep on doing those check marks recalibrating, checking the balance etc and its getting annoying. I was thinking of repurchasing a new one. However, that may end up with the same issue lol
@@aodvisions I would recommend trying to get a really good balance doing it manually and then using the "digital balancing" just to confirm if it's all ok. If you do this a couple times it's actually quite impressive how balanced you can get the camera.

Very confusing on how you actually placed the camera on the plate, especially when your camera recording is faced from the top, and you're using a completely different plate than the one provided in the actual kit.
