    I have been stressing this so much. I am such an obsessive perfectionist and I did not even want to gift or sell to friends or family candles with those "imperfections" thinking I had done it wrong. 🙃 Knowing it is just science and not anything I did wrong is so great! THANK YOU!!

    Wet spots was really making me reconsider using differnt jars because it was making me feel crap about my candles but this just made me feel a lot better, plus I haven't had a complaint from a customer so wet spots= not a problem.

    I have solved this insane problem by realizing that one of the major problems is the candle is cooling differently. To fix this, place candle on a cooling rack and make sure your room temp is higher than 71. Don’t open windows and don’t turn on fans. The candle needs to cool slowly to fix to the glass completely. It was hell till I did this. Also, directly after pouring, tap the side of the glass and any bubbles will rise to the top.

    The thing that comes to mind is that a) it’s handmade, imperfections make it beautiful. I learned this in my knitting. Cuz you can get store bought sweaters that are perfect for way cheaper so imperfections are beauty b) when it’s lit it will self resolve so many issues.

    I always appreciate your videos because it's always of great value and this undoubtedly helps a lot of people who are starting out. They're afraid of bad reviews for something that normally happens with other products as you have shown. I have also seen many influencers with candles from well-known brands that had the same problems as they burned incorrectly but people buy the same! Many channels have rules, they say they can't be sold like this but the truth is that they just leave frustrated those who are just starting.

    For a round candles I would go for a vertical stripe as a label. Horizontal is so difficult, even for some Karen jars.

    Today I packed all of my jars, and put them in a shed, The wet spots, literally drive me crazy, I can’t help it, the aesthetics and my ocd, slash perfectionism. I literally purchased all brand new tins for my line, more specifically black and white tins, I absolutely fell in love with the one that I won, and that did it for me, it was a sign, my containers now have to be tins, super cute, super convenient and perfect for transporting,
    your videos are so helpful, however, I still cannot sell my candles like this, sadly they are all in a box and in my shed...

      I have OCD, and everything about imperfections drive me crazy! I make skin care as well and if my piping wasn't perfect, I'd empty all the jars and clean them and restart, lol! I got over it eventually, but the first few years, I drove myself nuts. I got therapy actually to learn to deal with OCD. If it gets really bad I'd suggest that for sure!

Along the line of worrying so much while making candles, do you think it's bad if the wick flames are getting to that 4hr mark but have only been burning for 3 hours or is that another worried to much issue? When Etsy deposits my profit it includes shipping costs (which I charge for) - so I go in and subtract all of the shipping costs and then input my profit. I sold 4 candles to a guy i work with.i used 464 wax in jelly jars.i did have some wet spots on 1 or 2 candles and 1 with oil on the bottom.he still bought them.i think the oil problem it was the last candle i pourd.i made some test candles using 6006 in ceramic jars i heated the jars plus use tin foil around the jar 1 still contracted just enough there was a gap on top wax about half way around the jar.

    I was mortified when this happened to me. Then I tried using a heat gun on the sides which removed the wet spots and they don't come back once cooled either - well they don't on my vessels and I use clear glass x

    • @hummingbirdess8763
      @hummingbirdess8763 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Try wiping the area with alcohol, let it dry and then put stickum down. Press firmly with your fingers, a pen, or pencil. Sometimes there is dust or dirt at the bottom that you can’t see but it will interfere and make a sticking issue.

    Did you ever see a Yankee candle? People dont care about the wet spots, those who do, you probably dont want as a customer. My customers care about scent throw. The fact that you are small, and make them yourself is more of a selling for people.

    it's no biggie plus after it's lit for the first time usually the wax sticked back to the glass and stays, also paraffin helps with adhesion so that could be why B&BW barely had any flaws

    Guy don't so obessive, these are natural products and this things happen. eventually it needs to burn well and have a good fragrance. we need end no. of things to focus on rather than perfecting a single product
