Just picked up a fully customized para 2. I usually do it myself but you can’t beat the price for what you get. Acid etch carbon fiber scales and a complete hardware kit for like 90 bucks. Can’t beat it
After it comes out of the acetone you will want to wipe clean. The solution is 3 parts distilled water to 1 part ferric chloride. 100% ferric chloride doesn't seem to etch as well as the mix. Hope this helps.
KNIVES PLUS ® I have been just dipping my blades in a hundred percent ferric or pcbh from RadioShack I think it's the same thing but it's a hundred percent non-diluted and it only takes maybe 10 to 15 seconds if you want to leave your logos on 1 - 2 minutes and it gets very dark but the only problem is it has a tendency to bleed off over time and keep wiping it off on paper towels which is nasty if you use it to cut food and it also rusts easy
We have found that diluting the ferric chloride helps with the etch. Cleaning everything is key - before and after etch. We probably wouldn't cut food with it though :). We also tumble the blades so it gives a "scratched" look. Good luck with your mods.
Hey guys. Do you mix destilled water with ready water solution or ferric chloride in granules is added to destilled water? Do you boiled that solution before or you did it in rooom temprature?
Just received one. Beautiful looking.. worst action I've ever experienced on a Spyderco. I've disassembled, cleaned, and reoiled with nano oil. Still horrible. I'll continue to attempt to break it in, but not hopeful that it's going to get better. 😥

@Mr Knowbody Booiling was a bad word for it. More like warm it up a little bit to 122 F.
Do you put nail polish in the pivot hole as well?
