Thanks a lot for the indepth analysis of both phones. I'm having a hard time getting a phone. I look at longevity as opposed to everyday use. Since I'm using longevity as my main point of having a good phone, I'm going for the S20+. Unlike a lot of other people when I buy a phone I want to use it for at least 4 years. Again thanks for the review.
I agree. The future proofing of a phone is very important. I don't think the A71 will be sufficient for 4 years of use. I would guess probably two years. The S20 will definitely be fine after 4 years. Let me know which one you end up going with!
i have used a71 for almost 6 months now, tomorrow im switching to s20 plus. This will be my first flagship phone.thanks for the all explainations in this video !
Hey, it's been 8 months since I started using the a71 phone. I never faced the problem with the fingerprint sensor and I must say that people without flagship phones will be really satisfied with a71's overall performance and spec. What's your take on this?
Yes! The A71 is one of the best phones out today in my opinion - especially for the price! Fingerprint sensor is not as fast as some other technologies , but it does work enough of the time. Thanks for watching !
@@claireada7323 I'm still using a71 right now and it's been nearly 2 years, the overall performance is totally good but the recent ota update has caused little lag in the camera but the picture clarity remains the same, it's perfect. Waiting for the one ui 4.1 to resolve this problem.
@@narenaitha5705 Thanks for answering 🙂, okay that's good to know. I was thinking of getting it that's why I asked. So besides the camera lag, are there any other issues to note?
I have the S20+ 5G Exynos version, and it overheats sometimes, battery life is awful, but camera, performance in everyday use is awesome, and I bought it for just 600€, fully new
Hi,S20 plus pice here in the Philippines dropped to just 21usd higher than the FE. I'm thinking if I should wait or the FE or go with S20 plus. Which do you recommend?
Michael sir..should i buy oneplus nord or samsung a71? I just watch youtube and instagram and rarely play small games but i need a great camera..which one should i go for?nord or a71?
It is great for photos! It is just as good as any other flag ship. It lags sometimes when opening the camera app. But if you give it a second to load then taking pictures is fine.
@@ultiprice oh now I see🤔 I'm a blogger and I just need a great flagship phone with nice camera... Anyways thank you so much for Ur kind response 💜 And yes all Ur videos have been so helpful to me..... Keep up the great work!!
So if the iPhone home button finger print sensor is a 10/10, the S20 would be a 7/10 and the A71 would be a 5/10. It's useable, but I would recommend adding three fingerprint scans of the same finger. Then it is quite consistent.
So the camera sensors and hardware are very similar between the two devices. BUT I think the best camera is the camera that you have ready to shoot a photo when you need to capture a moment. In that regard, the A71 is a bit slow to open the camera application and to process shots - this may lead to missed photos. The S20 Plus does not have that issue at all, and never lags. Now if you give the A71 a few seconds to load up the camera app, and a half second or so between photos, it does a great job and very comparable to the S20. Also, if lighting conditions are bright, the phone has to process less data for the image, so outdoor shots are great on both phones. Low light shots lack on the A71 mainly because the processor is too slow to process a proper image, thus resulting in lag and blur. We are just being picky though, in everyday use, the A71 takes great photos and portrait shots.
Hello from India. I liked your content and it's amazing to see how much effort you put in to achieve this kind of perfection. The amount of details is actually more than the likes of MKBHD. 👍 I want an advice from you. I am upgrading from Samsung Note 10+ (Exynos) . My options are S20+ (Snapdragon), S20+ (Exynos), iPhone 11 Pro series and Oneplus 8 Pro. My priorities are excellent call quality via earpiece and speaker phone, excellent audio quality, excellent battery life and smooth overall performance. For me the basics of communication like Signal and WIFI reception and calling experience matter a lot. Which one should I go for? P:S - I also have S10+ (512gb) Snapdragon version as my secondary phone. Should I just stick to it compared to all the above?
Hello! Thanks for watching! Honestly, the performance and feature difference between your S10+ and any of the phones you listed will be very minimal. For me, I find that any phone above 250,000 on Antutu benchmark is sufficient for lag free use, and 300,000 is most ideal. So you are already beyond that number, any upgrades would be for other features or pure design. The priorities you mention will all be met by all of the phones you listed plus your current S10 as well. However, if you just want to upgrade and try a new device, you should get S20+ snapdragon or Oneplus 8 Pro. If you need dual sim, you may be limited to the Exynos versions. If you do not need dual sim, go for the snapdragon. You will regret buying the exynos version for battery life and overheating! Also check out the new Xiaomi Mi10 Ultra, it also checks all of your priority boxes and is cheaper.
Turn the battery optimization off, remove the fingerprint animations and try using the index finger registered three times. No fingerprint issues on the A71 😁👍.
What would you recommend between the oneplus Nord 12gb for £470 or a S20+ (8gb+exynos) for £620? Currently I'm using a S8 and it's definitely on its way out after 2 years of much use... I only really use my phone for TH-cam, scrolling Instagram and very rarely play games
So your S8 has an Antutu score of 202k. The Nord has a score of 320k and the S20 has a score of about 500k. I have noticed that there is pretty much no lag above 300k. So for today, the Nord is definitely sufficient. However, that may only hold true for about two years. So if you intend on keeping the phone for over two years, go with the S20. If not, go with the Nord, as you may upgrade again later. For what you do, the S20 won't do much more for you compared to the Nord. And the refresh rate on the Nord will be plenty sufficient. Hope this helps! Let me know which one you end up going with, and thanks for watching.
@@ultiprice thanks for the reply, I think I'll be going for the Nord as I generally swap phones every 18-24 months... is there any other android phones you'd highly recommend for £600 or less?
For an even cheaper option you can check out the Samsung A71, but with a score of roughly. 260k you may exhibit a little bit of lag under heavier usages. The new Samsung S20 FE (Fan Edition) is also worth keeping an eye out for depending on its pricing!

You will notice a difference when watching content as you currently have dual speakers. However, as long as you don't block the speaker grill on the A71 the loudness should be fine. I would say if the iPhone speaker is 10/10 then the A71 would be 7/10. Go for it! The display and form factor alone will make you happy you upgraded.
