Johnny Davis had upside in Wisconsin. He had nights where he looked like a superstar. Unfortunately, Wisconsin is an NBA superstar factory like Kentucky or Kansas. Sam Dekker struggled to find a spot in the league, and Frank Kaminsky was a rotation player at best in the NBA. Both of them are now playing in Europe, Dekker on the London Lion in the British League, and Kaminsky on Partizan in the EuroLeague. Johnny Davis looks to be heading that path right now.

He seems to still not quite know how to optimize his play for Brown it doesn’t make sense to me but it’s clear. He dribbles more than probably anyone not named Fox in an offense more about passing than dribbling. Still a poor team defender. I think he will be fine elsewhere, 10-15ppg 3-6ast kind of guy with elite on-ball defense and hopefully one day even remotely serviceable off-ball He deserves PT though. Keon Ellis is +31 Plus-minus is not the best determining factor of effectiveness, but when the difference between him and the rest of the team is so vast, it carries a lot more weight.
Im a Kings fan too and I really think Davion is a matchup specific defenser. No matter how good he is, he's too small, bigger, stronger guards often times just push through him and shoot over him. He's good against the likes of Trae Young and Ja Morant though. I still think he's just a "meh" player unfortunately and pretty sure he'd be replaced as soon as the opportunity arises. 💔

Sure players get better with practice and training, but most young players get better by playing in games and being supported after making some mistakes. You have to actually watch the games. Watching Wiseman play against the 76ers and Bucks last week showed he can play. The fact that Monte Williams, talk about a bust ,prefers Bagley, is idiotic. They should play Durden and Wiseman together, as well as Ivey and Cunningham, and Bog. This year, even Ivey and Cunningham aren't playing that well. One problem is that their point guard is not good, and he decides where the ball goes. Also, you have to suspect playing time has something to do with a strategy to cut the payroll , but it's hard to see what it might be. In other words, they got Wiseman just to cut payroll by not extending his contract. After all, they already had 3 Centers!
