I made tons of these bags years ago. They're still in great shape and I always get compliments on them at the supermarket. The only difference is that I used a bit of elastic at the bottom so that I can roll them up and keep them rolled up. Thanks for sharing! I always look forward to your posts.
Love it Sherrill & the outer fabric is so vibrant & beautiful that this could serve as a Beach Bag. Summer arrives in a couple of months & we'll be ready.👍
I had a very busy day in my sewing room again and now I've got my hand quilting. Such a great video! I hope you have a beautiful and happy week ahead! Thank you for posting!
I just found this tutorial. You did an excellent job making it so easy to understand. I'm in the process of making one and can't wait until it's done. Thanks again Sherrill.
Well I just started making another bag and it is coming together so nicely. I've taken all my other grocery bags pattern and gotten rid of them. Thinking about making my next bag about 4 or 5 inches longer so it will hold more groceries. Thanks again Sherrill
Thank you for this pattern!! I made two of them today. We have a new Aldi here in my hometown and these will come in handy.💗 you are one of my favorite TH-camrs . Easy instruction and to the point . Thank you !!
Quick question. Looks like ruler was only 3 1/2 inches and pattern said 4 1/2. Just wanted to make sure before I cut up fabric. I LOVE LOVE LOVE your videos ♥️♥️♥️. Thanks for the clarification 😉
Would it work to make a french seam on the bottom of this bag so there are no raw edges? (I don't have a serger) Not sure how that would work with the folds at the bottom (around minute 11:09)? Of course I would sew first on the right side of fabric first, then the other side. Please advise. Thank you.
Hi Annajean. Because of the way the handles are designed it is the only way to close the handles. If you stitch the handles together first and then try to turn it front side out, only part of the bag will come through the opening. Then handles would be stuck inside. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching, and happy sewing. 😍
@@TheSewingRoomChannel I like the way your brain works, even when I don't understand it at first it all makes sense in the end. I would turn the bottom seam to the inside as well making it no raw edges showing anywhere. You often solve a dilemma I've had about a more professional finish

You can use either 3.5" or 4.5". It just changes the width of the handles. Sorry for the confusion. Thanks for watching, and happy sewing. 😍
Good spot, I saw it too.
Love It!

Hi Rita. You can do a machine overcast stitch like the zigzag stitch to cover the raw edges. Thanks for watching, and happy sewing. 😍
Wouldn't it be easier to leave a small opening on lining bottom to pull through and then close up rather than messing with all that work on handles?
Hi Annajean. Because of the way the handles are designed it is the only way to close the handles.
