This is my hometown. I saw the changes happened in these 20 years. My father and my mother they’re from different counties of Xiangxi. During festivals, we needed to travel from where I lived to my grandparents house. 3 hours on vans plus 3 hours on boats. Also if I got a cold, I needed to travel several hours for a better hospital.
Imagine, 6 hours you can fly from Beijing to Kuala Lumpur, but I could just travel from a county to another.
Upon this mega bridge and those highways had been built. It only takes me 40mins to the best hospital in xiangxi and also 40mins to my grandparents house. These traffic gave me the opportunities to go outside of the mountains and explore the rest of the world.

@@thomasmuller9243 : Go and watch videos from "Katherine's Journey to the East".
Katherine is an American that did her graduate work in Environmental Studies/Engineering in China and now works in (no surprise) environmental engineering work.
Katherine has talked extensively in her videos about how China's rural areas used to put all of their sewage AND industrial waste directly into the nearest body of water. Needless to say Katherine talks about how the rivers and streams in China's rural areas were horrifically foul smelling....... kind along the lines of what present day india/South Asia and Southeast Asia is like.
Katherine said that China implemented a vast urgent building of "micro sewage/septic systems across all rural areas across China starting in the early 2000s.
Apparently the vast majority of China's rural bodies of water have been greatly cleaned up, though there are still areas to implement the rural sewage/septic systems in........
Nonetheless Katherine shows how cleaned up China rural waters have been as Katherine goes swimming in the waters (and if you watch enough of her videos you find Katherine loves swimming).

Sure! My wife and I enjoy your video very much. You begin with that sweet little cat, we love that sweet little moment you pad her/him - is so heart warming to see you do pay attention to animals. Those scenery are so gorgeous and you captured it all... so beautifully not to mention your drone piloting is just breath taking. Thank you for sharing Yan.

China is expertized in building infrastructure, do not worry. A suspension bridge wobbles if it is very narrow compared to its length. This one is stable. You walked on the foot path so felt some trembling. The glass bridge along the cliff is a challenge. I have an engineering job, and can tell you my experience. Thanks for sharing your interesting excursions around China . God bless you.

Cannot imagine? What technology and human can do those impossible in the olden days. Can research and share this information? So the world can admire and appreciate China.

And also, why those people live up the mountain, climbing up and down to risk their life.
Why is government not giving priority to help them stay and live at lower land area.

Your videos are such beautiful depiction of the interior places of China. I am from India and I learned Mandarin for two years. One of my wish is to be able to travel to off-beat places like you do, within China and enjoy these beautiful places - the food, the culture, and the scenic beauties. Your videos will be a definite guide for me :) Keep making these wonderful videos 'Little Chinese' !

These railings 19:38, how are they assembled? They look like branches, but i don't see any joints - as if they make up one whole. And their form is stunning to me, and everything else is so beautiful and delicate.
