  • In this video it is my pleasure to - finally - introduce the 10 Minute Workshop Loose Tenon Jig, and rather than drone on about it, I put a simple carcass together using nothing but the loose tenon jig and the Trend T18s cordless trim router [gifted] with a 5mm carbide spiral upcut bit. Enjoy.
2023 update; this jig and the Plus were discontinued pending the launch of the latest veraion, the LTJ30, which is available at the 10MinuteWorkshop store at 10minute.shop, or follow the link on the ‘merchant shelf’ directly below the video.

Now with this jig, along with other things I’ve learned from your channel I can feel a whole world opening up to me that I no longer have to spend a fortune to participate in.

Received mine today. Done a test join and I am really pleased. Tried a few dowel jigs before now, one of them not particularly cheap. The loose tenon jig gave a perfect flush finish first time, which the dowel jigs never quite managed every time. The only drawback for me is it makes you want a Festool Domino even more.

Great jig Peter, hope it becomes big success. Seems like a nice trade-off for being just a bit slower than the domino, but way cheaper. Only downside I can see is if you router that doesn't have decent dust extraction (my Bosch green router would make a bit of a mess).

Thanks, you just made my domino useless... 🤣🤣🤣
Joke aside, really good jig. And for the middle of the board it also works amazingly well. I could have saved a lot of money if this jig was available at the time I bought my domino.
Please more PM Jigs in the world.👏👏👏

The huge smile on your face at the opening of the video was quite heart warming. I'm really glad you've gotten you product to market. And what a great product it is! I signed up to wait. Haha! And I'll do just that.
Question: The locating pins you used with the jig are user supplied? I didn't notice them in the bundle offering.
    Congratulations on your accomplishment!

Thanks Mark! The locating pins come with the jig - they’re an essential part, so are included as standard; sorry if that wasn’t clear! 👍👍

Thankyou for not pricing your jig over the top. You always come across as a genuine bloke and I am looking forward to getting one. One thing I noticed in your video was the black cone bit on your new trend router. Is it a centring tool. I have two old trend routers well I say 2 I’ve just about got 1 using the parts but they keep on working. You have got me interested I might have to look at the Trend catalogue. Merry Xmas John from County Durham.

Thanks John! The cone is a centering mandrel - this is a Festool one, available from Amazon here - amzn.to/32cYjcc

Thanks Peter, I've received my kit thanks and it feels quality, just one question though what size hole do you recommend for the thread inserts, just asking as I don't want to split the jig.

Thanks Kenny! I use a 7mm bit - it gives a nice bite to the threaded insert. 👌 I do go through all the details in the assembly guide video btw, so worth a watch. 👍
