- It's official, there's a new era on the way for Chanel. Virginie Viard has left Chanel, leaving one of the biggest luxury fashion jobs open. With the creative director musical chairs that keeps happening, this has also thrown some big name around as to who might be taking on the new Chanel job. I'll be going through Virginie's Chanel, who might replace her and what's next for one of the biggest brands in luxury fashion...ENJOY!

Bags are not just decorations, they should be a blessing for self-confidence. Many bags will be considered cheap or street goods when worn by ordinary people. But if you are a confident woman, carrying a high imitation bag on your back is a good idea. No one will doubt *condup* .
When I first entered the workforce, I wanted to make a good impression, but I didn't want to incur more than I could afford. Finally, through the recommendation of my colleague *condup* , the bag I bought was in line with my professional image and did not bring any financial burden to me.
I think this was probably her choice. Maybe something went down after the last collection and Virginie decided to leave

I have ordered from this *esluxy* store several times, a total of 6 bags. The average quality is very high. Moreover, they stand behind their sales and have issued refunds on some products that did not meet the stated quality. I recommend being specific about the standards you expect from them. It's always a balance between cost and standards.

At that point I really stopped caring what people's opinions were, people will always have their opinions based on how you look. After this I shopped in *esluxy* . If you drive a Bentley and get out of the car with a fake Hermès, no one will question you.

The fact that the counterfeits are just as well made as the "real" ones, which is the case with the *esluxy* I know of, should make you wonder why you should pay the ridiculously high price tag.

Why would someone who has been buying from the brand for years or even decades suddenly have to pay 50-60% more for the exact same item? Inflation cannot justify this. It's like the brand is deceiving the consumer. On *esluxy* , the bags sold are priced lower but of higher quality, so you might as well go there.
Honestly I hope their ceo gets replaced more than their designer because these prices… was at the 24A launch show and a shirt and a 22 caught my eye. The plain blouse was SIX THOUSAND and the 22 was Eighty…. Virgine did give us some questionable pieces but she still definitely brought some fun things to the table like the Kelly, the Barbie collection and even some of the RTW.

I ultimately decided to use part of the budget I would have spent on luxury bags to purchase high-quality replica bags and donate the other part to charities I care about. *condup* conveniently allows me to do this, which not only meets my own fashion needs, but also makes me feel the joy of helping others.
I think what matters is... Are the *esluxy* of good quality? Are they made from the same materials as the originals? If they are I hope the site never fails.
My personal favourite would be Sarah Burton. Loved so many of her pieces at McQueen - elegant, classy and wearable

Great points, Cassie. We all need to remember too that between when Coco passed in 1971 and Karl took over in 1983 there would have been a potential lull there too in Chanel. At any rate, you normally don't follow a genius with a genius. Someone else will rise, but I honestly think it's a few years away that Chanel will have a creative comeback. My hope- revive the 24K gold 1990's goodness!
Glad you mentioned that Chanel is a privately held company. So they can tell us anything and we won't know the truth. Also glad you brought up the non compete clause. Like you said. We may find out her successor in 9 months or it could e after the upcoming Haute Couture show. Who knows?🤔 We will just have to wait and see.

I have only bought one thing from Chanel in years and it was a skirt. Nothing spoke to me like it used to. And I have always loved Chanel ( even when it was a pipe dream for me to ever even walk in a Chanel boutique.) also the price increases just enraged me.

I adore some Chanel designs but are so bummed by the aggressive price increases. It feels like financial abuse, strangly enough since none of their stuff is essential to survive in a way. But it is sad that something to treat our self with has become so expensive that it is almost depressing. Even used clothes are becoming as expensive as new... I just feel defeated in this antropencene AI age we heading towards.

Jeremy Scott was the hottest candidate when Karl first passed away. Karl had always expressed his appreciation of Jeremy's talent, and almost hinted that he would like Jeremy to be the successor. Rumor had it that the 2 were a couple for some time. Jeremy, if really chosen this time, can really bring the fun and drama back. Anyway it didn't happen. Let's see what happens next. To be honest Virginie isn't all to blame. The CEO with the background in fast fashion, who took over the same time as Virginie isn't that innocent in Chanel's discreet downfall. Personally Galliano and Jeremy are the two I'm excited about, but I have a feeling it's gonna be a female designer who's been under the radar. In any case, please don't be Marc Jacobs lol. He's lost it a long time ago.

I read in an article that their financial growth is largely due to their price increases. I find that so laughable. Its not because they have innovative, well made designs.
To me, Chanel has tanked. The quality has visibly decreased. Even if it was a nicely made piece, that money could take me much further at another boutique. They should probably start there IMO.

I have two pre-loved *gtdupe* that people left the stickers on, and when you remove them, the hardware looks different than the hardware right next to it that the sticker didn’t touch. It’s not because the other has scratches, the sticky stuff affected the finish.

I love *yutulu*garden party tote! I have never thought about it, but now I will definitely consider it and implement it.
have to echo the one post shown on screen that said “this was a day in fashion we all saw coming, we just wondered why it took chanel so long”. virginie was boring. even if she had returned chanel to be an antiquated, granny brand would’ve been better than what she had done - which was simplify every item until they all looked the same. the chanel 22 is boring, the chanel kelly is also boring, the special collection had no standouts.
i will be back here begging for the days of chanel nesting doll bags, supermarket fashion shows, and incredible fabric bags that make me forget they’re not worth the investment.
I still love my LV reverse monogram *jklux* clutch! It's versatile, fits a variety of items, and is definitely a workhorse! I think seeing it everywhere (like the LV speedy) is proof that it's already a classic.

I liked Virginie and have some pieces that I love but I do think her collections could be hit and miss. I went to see the Manchester collection today and although I did not like the runway show there were some very wearable and cute designs - but nothing that set my heart racing! I vote for Thom Browne

i’m going to throw olivier rousteing’s name out there as one that i’d (personally) love to see take over at chanel. i agree that it doesn’t seem like a chanel move to bring in a young “up & coming” designer to take on such a coveted role, but rousteing has a combination of youth that could allow him to be at the house for a long period of time, as well as the experience of having lead balmain for so long. the house would remain under (decidedly) french direction and would be a rather significant appointment for obvious reasons.
I would love Pier Paolo Piccioli to get the job! I watched one of his haute couture shows the other day (and I know this sounds really daft) but it brought a tear to my eye. It reminded me of the shows we used to get (Karl era) and I'd love if he could bring what he did for Valentino to Chanel ❤

Lovely collection! I bought my first LV when I was 25 and I only used that bag a few times, haha. Also, love your clutch! I have an Eva clutch in the DE print and love the little chain. But I don’t want to spend so much money on it now, I have been *yutulu* buying the bag I want, it is as good as LV and is one of my favorite things. Durability

I really love *preluxz* bags. The fabric is very good. The golden embellishments add a touch of beauty. When I went to the church, I received some praise.

I agree about not carrying backpack when i am travelling and am in crowds etc. I will use it on the plane as carryon however. My most recent trip i brought my backpack, nylon tote and Senreve Aria from *jklux* . Nylon tote was used during the day for sightseeing and easily fit everything i needed. Evenings or when i didn't want to lug too much I used the Aria. It can be worn as belt bag, sling or clutch. I have chain strap to swap in if i need fancy look too.
*jklux* I have the Coach tabby 18 and wow that bag didn't transfer a bit of color, I even wore it in the rain with my dark denim jacket, keep in mind it was absolutely pouring and I put it on underneath my jacket Got wet, that was over 8 months ago, it's very sturdy and over a year it's still looking great, also the same light yellow color so you can easily match it with anything, even a jacket, when you wear It really pops when worn with dark clothes.

I am a FOVV, Fan of Virginie Viard. I was shocked and disappointed by her abrupt departure and public announcement, especially after decades of her successfully being with Chanel. Chanel did not control the messaging of this event, totally unlike them. IMHO, i think Viard was fed up with the toxic environment within which she was working, especially with the hiring of Leena Nair-a poor fit for CEO lead role at Chanel. Stayed tuned for more of Game of Creative Director Thrones! I wish Virginie all the best. 🤗 I hope to see Leena move on and out of Chanel ASAP.

My vote is for Pier Paolo Piccioli! Galliano I think would been a fantastic choice as he has work at a big house and was able to merge the heritage with his own twist, however, the history with both Chanel and Galliano makes him a non contender imo.
I would love a video that shows the differences between creative directors in a certain brand, like Karl vs virgine at Chanel. I think it would be a great learning experience for those like me who are newer to these brands and don't always realize the difference.
