You can learn soooo much about how to strike the ball with correct positioning, grip, rotation of the torso, racket motion and acceleration, etc., just by watching the Swiss Maestro in slow motion. Thanks for the upload! :)
Mesmerising the most natural gifted player ever. As with all top players the ability to execute the same technique over and over, i.e. Repetition is what sets them apart from lesser players. Especially when they are put under pressure, are tired, but the most important thing no camera can capture is the unshakable desire to win and how they read the game, anticipation and an instinct for where to put the shot to create an opening.
If anyone tries to tell you to lock your wrists at 90 degrees on your groundstrokes tell them they need to get on a time machine and leave the 1990s. Man, Roger is spanking up and through and getting such easy power off both sides! Very relaxed with the wrists.
No he does lock his wrist on his forehand but he releases it right after contact so it just looks like he's flailing his wrist a lot. Slow it down to 0.25 speed and you can see it
@@ryank9073 he does not lock his wrist.. it is loose. Theres no snapping wrist action either. Just neuteal, loose, not locked as in old tennis forehands
If you notice, watch Federer's head as he is hitting a shot, especially his forehand. He has a slight tilt of the head as he keeps his eyes on the ball all the way into his racquet.
I play tennis 30ish years, I try to hit with a similar stroke as the GOAT, 1HBH and a similar forehand (I'm semi-western grip, Fed is modified eastern), and I could watch this video of his peRFection for hours just to have drilled into my mortal mind the way it's supposed to be done.
Yep this is a great video of fed. I’m struggling with both forehand and backhand and from watching this I think on my forehand my elbow needs to come through more and on my backhand my arm needs to be straighter at contact. Still analysing this!
After practicing yesterday against the wall it was the first time in my life I used a slightly open stance and holy crap power, spin and control all came at once. Planting the back leg first and by staying more open you can rotate properly through the ball and generate lag and head speed. I was taught all wrong by closing the shoulders off and then Bringing the right leg forward after the shot.
People trying to copy style or tech, it's all in the head which one can't have a glimpse of. You can't learn someone's tech by slomo it or microscoping it and then expect to get same results.
Knee bend to get lower. Or against hard hitting opponents. This guy is just purposely spinning no pace high balls as a lefty. Requires good footwork, like what Fed is practicing.
@@jz77096 what I meant here is we are taught to bend our knees to generate power from the ground up. He is probably generating toons of power compared to us mere mortals not even barely bending his . All this power comes for perfect timing and perfect technique. Also from the body coiling and uncoiling .torso and hips angle separation . In another words they are in a total different league .
how come i have to move like 8 steps and adjust my position so much after every shot while he moves 1-2 steps each time and still hits a perfect shot...

Steven Burton he locks the wrist in every stroke, except for the forehand

@@ryank9073 How can you lock your wrist when you should be doing the wrist 'lag & snap'?. Roger is literally slapping the ball on his forehand
@@ryank9073 agree, only when you lock it,you will not break the chain

Awesome editing job man- thanks
Great segment. Really helpful to see the slow motion, then regular speed. Thanks!

Actually really helpful thanks
damn, he takes it so early. He gives you no time at all.

フォアハンドのスピンえぐすぎだろ
He'll beat me in slow motion.
Lol. He'll beat us all with a beach small toy raquet,
and using flip flop😂
Así se puede apreciar más la elegancia de sus movimientos
Awesome video, thanks, please keep and don't delete

I actually popped the tennis ball which has never happened before doing this new technique.

so who hired the hitting partner?
Which camera and editor have been used. Please comment.

i can make that shot at 4:27.... if you give me 100 chances
Just watching re run of Federa Nadal 2008 wish someone would gag Andrew Castle
His hitting partner would frustrate the hell out of me!
GSUS HC His hitting partner is superior to you.
actually not!
GSUS HC actually, yes. I promise you he's a better player than you.
you're entitled to your own opinion as am I, so no need to get butt hurt or to continue with your foolishness.
***** Are you really trying to tell me you're better than his hitting partner?? 😂😂😂
👍🙏
He barely bends his knees …

Ryan K it's all experience, he has developed a fell for it
Ryan K Because you have shit footwork but he does not.
7. You have to credit his hitting partner - steadily hitting at Roger as a target. Therefore, Roger’s movement is nominal.
partner is good, and he is an experienced painter😃
