Coach Ed Krass had published a VHS entitled The B.E.S.T. Serve many years ago. I have it. That’s what Patrick is teaching. Biomechanically efficient indeed.
Just what I need to fix my serve! I tend to grip to tightly, use the shoulder and force/guide my serve. Will be working on this all week to hopefully help me with ladder competition. Great tips and explanation. Thank you!!
8:21 "big signal" vs. "very very little signal" -- the Pete Sampras serve, and his ability to hit anywhere with the same toss, is a great example of this "very little signal" technique.
he uses talented juniors or semi pros as an example who barely have any flaws, PM seems to suggest his tips fixes their issues, these tech adjustments seem easy but aren't that easily implementable for most amateurs as it is
That kind of makes the target audience. It's ppl who play clean and effective technique and look for those last little improvements. But you actually can replicate this advice. Just practice serves with a very relaxed body, like well cooked Spaghetti. On some days my warmup serves are faster than the ones I play in the actual match. And my opponent's serves as well.
@@sebastiandomagala9233 yes that is the most basic advice one would ever say to a seasoned junior or a semi pro, no one holds the racket like a rock, you have to hold it lightly when serving, that's the first thing any coach would tell a junior. I disagree that PMs target audience is just catered to high ranking juniors/semi pros etc.
@@iceman1125 A good coach might tell you. But many coaches are not that good or just don't give a sh... If all of them were good enough, PM wouldn't give such advice to players of that level as shown in the video. Except it's just made up, but why should he give any advice that everybody already knows? Nobody would watch that.
Hi, Patrick, I'm from Florida and I'm in 6th grade I wanted to know if you think while I'm hitting, I should keep it at 1/10 or 0 because I feel like that racket will slip out of my hand
Dear Muratoğlu, your last name is Turkish, but there is no Turkish in the translations of your videos. We would be happy if your subtitles could be translated into Turkish.😅
The average player like you and me has no use for these tips. Patrick’s channel does not cater to beginners, and there’s nothing wrong with that. It caters to people who already have an extremely solid foundation in tennis. If you don’t have that foundation (as I don’t) you’re better off finding more beginner-friendly channels. A beginner trying to adopt Patrick’s advice is truly the definition of trying to run before you can walk.
Not true. My service hasn't been very successful and has been quite painful for my arm. To understand what I'm doing wrong, such advice is incredibly helpful, as a free wrist and relaxed arm are key factors for injury-free and more powerful playing
Wrong!!! I am a beginner and Patrick’s videos have transformed my playing - and everyone at my club has noticed and now asks me which videos I have watched as they want to watch them too! 😊
All this effort , videos, coaching , rackets , footwear and all for bugger all, there's buggerall money in Tennis apart from the money spent on the aforementioned junk and then playing more loses like yourselves. LOL be clever , dont bother and just okat batn ball for shi7s and giggles. :)
I tend to overcomplicate the serve motion, and Patrick is the PERFECT "de-overcomplicator"😆 Thank you!
You make it look so simple Patrick. Thanks
Best video on serves

Best serve lesson out there 👏👏👏

Regardless of naysayers who say your videos aren't for recreational players, I enjoy your instruction and tips. They are for anyone with an open mind.
Hy Patrick, my name is Pedro from Puerto Rico, just to thank you for helping me to fix my serve with this video.. Thank you
De l'or ! Merci Patrick 🖤
Guy in sunglasses steals the show eventually

Thx Patrick for those tips
Thank you, Patrick, this should be paid content.

To quote the great George Costanza, this is like discovering plutonium.
My problem is how to be consistent to do this tips.
He tried every possible way of making him use his wrist, this guy just doesn’t listen …

Nonsense!! If one is having good instruction then all Mr Morataglue can tell you will clarify and improve understanding Cheers

Learn it the right way or don’t. Thanks for the lesson maestro
Be careful not to use just wrist, end up hurting bad.
Difficult to change technic played long time.
